They've got to ride for 40 more kilometres to hold the sprinters off though.

Cavendish back on. It always looked like he'd paced himself pretty well, and wasn't a million miles behind even at the top.

Well that fucking sucks. Tao was flying.

    4km to go, all together.

Lefevre saying Remco won't be going to the Tour.

Pedersen sets off and Cav is in his wheel.

    Cav vs Ackerman.

Then Milan comes from nowhere on the opposite side. Ackerman vs MIlan on the photo.

Close finish, thought Cav was going to hold on but got passed by Ackerman then Milan coming through late.

Ackerman given it by TV captions but suspect the photo is still being reviewed.

Ackerman wins by about a tire depth.

Ackerman on the photo by a tyre at most but Milan made up around 10m from a terrible position. He wasn't even in shot 50m from the line

ah crap, sounds like a crappy end to the stage.

When abouts should I start watching from, though I don't want to overly see a nasty crash to be fair.

I watched a good few k with lunch, but stopped at about 14:15.

Any point in watching any more?

Milan is going to do a Cav 2008 at the Tour if he improves

Wonder whether any sprinters will quit today. A lot of mountains to come and only one sprint stage.

The speed Milan closed with was seriously impressive, he just had his timing a touch out.

Cav is looking pretty sharp though, been close a few times while having to surf wheels

Rare to see Mads go long and not get much out of it
Warning No formatter is installed for the format

4km to go unless you want crashes.

He should have won ..down hill sprint going in the last 150... just a bit of a tune up required

Quickstep down to 3: Ballerini, Serry, and Van Wilder

Would the 4 team mates of Remco who 'went home with COVID' form the core of a TdeF team if QS were to refocus their GC season on July? Just curious.

Not going to lie, given the reminder of Wouter Weylandt I found that second one a tough thing to see.

I think the sign actually helped him out and took some pace off or it would have been worse. Nice passively safe sign post too so gave quite a bit but he looks pretty bad (talking though).
Yeah, that sign was wobbling pretty violently afterwards, so you've got to assume it spread at least some of the deceleration as well.

Sivakov reported to be riding again - there was some concern he might already have abandoned.
Yeah, still riding but a long way back apparently. Ineos down from four in the top 10 to 2.
They still have four in the top ten, as both Arensman and De Plus move up.

    Remco not doing the TdF

Not wanting to be harsh, but all those who wet their pants about that clearly have no idea of how riders prepare for major objectives these days. There was no chance of Remco being able to reset and peak again for the Tour, even if he recovered from Covid in a couple of days.

    Looks bad

Bouwman, who stopped at the crash scene to hand over his bike to Roglic and then waited for the Bora team car to give him a replacement, said that while lying on the road TGH told him that he thought his leg was broken.

I won't be calling my turf accountant any time soon, but he's currently 4th favourite at 12/1.
