Thomas slid out and took most of his team plus Roglic. Tao looks like he's out.

Actually it was the UAE rider who slid out inside Geraint and wiped him out.

Movistar rider rides into a sign and a house. TGH stretchered off.

Edit - was Oscar Rodriguez and he doesn't look good either. Conscious and sort of sat up but suspect he'll be out too,

Rodriguez the rider who hit the house. Absolutely shocking crash.

Nasty mix of mainly dry roads with a few wet patches.

Not going to lie, given the reminder of Wouter Weylandt I found that second one a tough thing to see.

    :'(
Was literally listening to Tao's interview on the cycling podcast km0 where he's talking about luck and danger and risk as it happened

I think the sign actually helped him out and took some pace off or it would have been worse. Nice passively safe sign post too so gave quite a bit but he looks pretty bad (talking though).

Gutting for Tao, as he's been in great form over the last few weeks.

Yeah, that sign was wobbling pretty violently afterwards, so you've got to assume it spread at least some of the deceleration as well.

Sivakov reported to be riding again - there was some concern he might already have abandoned.

    No, we're already past that.

Hmm. At least I assume we would be. Are we sure it was on today's route? I never thought to check the claim.

Edit - yeah, think someone got confused between Passi del Bocco and del Bracco

Think I answersmashed them together and got Passo del Brocco (which could be the name of the climb up Brocco Bank in Sheffield past the Botanical Gardens)

Yeah, still riding but a long way back apparently. Ineos down from four in the top 10 to 2.

It's going to be hard to protect the jersey if Sivakov has to abandon.

Trek starting to put the pressure on and sprinters starting to lose touch.
