Part of the problem, as well as only 3 deg C, rain and strong winds, was apparently that at the top of the Passo delle Radici, there was cloud too, no visibility.
However the forecast is that by the time the riders reach the top, for a couple of hours the rain will more or less stop (before re-commencing), the cloud will have cleared and the temp risen to 5-6 deg C. Still windy, though, about 35 km/h with gusts over 50 Km/h (but tailwind).1 -
