    So English people, how are you feeling about tonight?

    As a neutral* I'm thinking England and France are *both* playing the best team other left in the tournament

    England have a chance here.

    Though I'm predicting France 3-1





    *neutral in the sense that I'm hoping France batter them

    As an Englishman I genuinely think it is the two best teams in the WC as well, shame it is a qtr final match.

    I really think it is a 50/50. Both have excellent but different attacking options, both have weaknesses defensively. I think our mf is slightly stronger. Any result wouldn't suprise me, France by 3, England by 3, a tight game decided by 1 goal, everything is on the table.

    If pressed I am going to say we might get a great game with a high 3-2 scoreline, just edging towards England in this scenario.

    France have yet to keep a clean sheet.

    I think if England line up fairly positive they’ll be ok.

    Best punditry I’ve heard so far was one of 5 Live’s reporters this morning who said that, with the amount of goals both teams have scored, any team keeping a clean sheet is likely to win.

    Difficult to judge England - I think France are favourites. This may be borne out of decades of losing games against major nations in major tournaments rather an objective view of how they've been playing.
