Two perfect bike throws there, Clarke just had that touch more speed at the start of the lunge.

Rog loses about 1' 50" to the Thomas group and 2'10" to Pog by my reckoning. Who would have thought the culprit would be a hay bale rather than the cobbles?

Really don't get Stuyven towing Pog in those last few kms. Pog only gain about 15-20" in the end for quite a big effort.

UAE owe him a big brown envelope

Well that move by Boasson Hagen is probably one of the worst tactical decisions I've seen in a while. Sprinted to close down Powless at 600 to go and kept going

    This.
He watched Powless jump, did nothing, then shot his load chasing for at least 300 metres.
He could have closed him down as soon as he moved as he was running on empty.
Especially as he was rubbish at the game of chicken.

Novice mistake for a guy with tons of experience.

Good to have a stage that was being talked up actually delivering some excitement.

Souns like Orla was shouting at the screen as well, her voice is nearly gone.

That was fun. Unless you were riding in it, I suspect.

Roglic 2:17 behind Pogacar. He's not winning this race.

Pretty cool to see a guy who looked like he was on the scrap heap in January win such a major stage of the Tour.

    The break deserved to win.

Once again the cobbled stage has had quite an impact on the GC

Just realised how lucky Vingegaard was that a large group came past just as he finally got his own spare bike.

I'd suspect a rest day abandonment and a few MTB World Cups over summer.

To be fair, after the Classics and the Giro, it's not unreasonable.

Pog is so far away from everyone else he won't catch it!
Finished in the group 13 seconds behind Pogacar, same time as a certain Mr. vanAert Waaaaay out of his depth but as we know, the resident expert confirmed he won’t get past stage 8 so not long to go now.
TP was also working with WvA to bring Pod s gap down.

Jumbo and ineos have to take a pop at UAE here ..too good a opportunity

I can't see Ineos with Ganna, Van Baarle, Rowe and Thomas quietly following wheels
And TP. I'm assuming his name wasn't mentioned in case it summoned the troll. Put in a decent TT, so he's clearly got some form.
his name hasn't been mentioned anywhere by anyone because he's out of his depth.

    soz.
