Well you raise a good point. What is gravel? Strade Bianchi is gravel, but so is Unbound (Dirty Kanza)..yet they're quite different.

And then you have the marketing; BMC's aero gravel bike won the women's race, whereas, the Canyon Ultimate road race bike won the men's.

I 'm shocked, shocked I tell you at the mere thought of the bike mattering far less than the rider.

The off road bits of Paris-Tours looked rougher than what I saw of the Gravel Worlds!

Wonder how happy the DH riders are with extra runs?

As an additional bit though, taken this from the UCI press release:

"Forty Elite riders (30 men and 10 women) will qualify for the final, where the goal is to broadcast each of the 40 runs in their entirety live on WBD platforms.

In addition, thanks to the increased participation of Junior Women, a qualifying run will be introduced for this category, with the fastest 10 proceeding to the final. The Men Junior and Women Junior competitions will also be broadcast for the first time."

    More coverage? Cracking news.

You would hope they were consulted; practice, timed practice/ qualifying, semi-final and Final.....
More coverage and exposure has got to be good; however, more injuries isn't....and injuries are a part of DH, they nearly all crash at some point, as going quick requires risk taking.

More transfer news; Lars Forster announced he is leaving Scott-Sram, and Filippo Colombo announced he is leaving BMC-MTB; which we already knew, as he's signed for the new Q36.5 Road team, but is rumoured to be joining Scott-Sram for MTB races.

And this morning, Lars Forster has signed with Thoemas-Maxon, joining Fluekiger, Keller & Albin.
