They need to bring back the short length from that era too. None of these knee-length monstrosities that are popular now.

The bib shorts need to be black with a touch of yellow and purple. Looks mismatched currently.

They need to be actual shorts too, not wannabee knickerbockers.

    Yeah cool kit.

I don't really care for the hot pants myself, I'd keep the slightly longer ones...

Genuinely disappointed they're not racing in it - the endless parade of dark blue and black is getting awfully dull on the TV screen. What I really like though is the way they've taken the kit and updated it rather than doing a straight copy - someone's thought really hard about how to translate it into modern materials and branding rather than doing a pastiche.

Oh they're not? That is a shame.

the kit is just a promo to commemorate his grandfather but apparently they have some black/yellow shorts for if/when he gets a yellow jersey in the next few days

What? Unveiling a nice new kit that they won't be wearing?

It may seem a bit cynical, but using some Pou-Pou PR will go down well with the roadside fans.

It's more that I'm disappointed because their existing kit is very dull.

Bahrain have gone further with their special kit.
They will wear it for the duration, but then burn it after the race.
All except one, which will be turned into a piece of crypto art, whatever that is.

The bottom line is that with so many teams producing TDF "one offs" these days, it will be like the first day of a new season again.
None of us will have a clue, so how Kirby is going to cope, gawd knows.

Got to be time they gave up on these presentations. They seem to try and have the teams on for minimal time. Must be a pain for the riders. It’s certainly not interesting, I gave up pretty quickly.

Not sure it's fair to judge them on a corona offering.

They're great fun for the grand depart host, especially when they're not in France.

I've often though teams have a 'home' and an 'away' kit - so there are less kit clashes. It's also a way to sell more merchandise. It can't be too hard to work out when each kit is used.....
So, for example, in some races Ineos race in orange, and Alpecin race in white....

Not sure they're wearing that design. "Following the presentation, the jerseys were destroyed, never to be physically seen again."

I think it's on brand for something to be produced from petro, worn once then burnt, and reborn as an energy wasteful "crypto art" nft.

Oh right, so as much use in the race as Alpecin's.

    Very good.

Waste of time to make it then not wear it at the race.

Am I right in thinking one of the presentations involved them turning up on giant swans, or was that a particularly fevered cheese dream?

They've certainly arrived by boat, but not a swan that I can remember.

I seem to recall when the Grand Depart was in Normandy a few years ago, all the teams arrived in WW2 US Army half tracks!

Edit - it was 2016 when first stage was at Utah beach. A selection of US Army vehicles transports the teams

The presentation was interesting for who got individual introductions, coming on after their teams - Pogacar, Alaphilippe, Sagan and Froome. No such honour for former winners Thomas and Nibali.
