Denmark were gassed by the end

Interesting wasn't it. Just ground down by relentless sideways passing.

Italy seem more glamorous because, well they’re Italian but they’re no better than England. Nothing to fear there.

He used up a lot of Denmark's resources. A bit like Skype.

You have to either go through, around or over and England are best going around.

What's the Italian goialie like? And chance of a howler?

Schmeichel has probably never played better. On another night it would have been a calm 3-1.in normal time.

Did pretty well with that defence.

I do think maybe Sam Matterface could do with upping the nonsense commentary a notch.

Can Southgate start with Grealish and leave Mount on the bench on Sunday? Grealish caused mayhem.

He definitely won't because he's naturally so cautious. Clearly views him as a luxury player. Doesn't mean he can't make an impact coming on though.

England can be glad I think that never went to pens

Well...I know I'm slightly biased but I think England bloody deserved that!

    Denmark played so negatively...

They ran out of puff and lost shape with all the subs. Too many too soon.

England have a few like for likes so just motored on.

I kind of agree with RC that both teams lack the extra needed to beat Italy. But then the Italians have had a couple more extra times so they aren't unbeatable. Who knows.

For a day or so let's enjoy winning the first semi final after 3 losses on the bounce.
I called that at the time. Engage smug mode. 😉

Not least as apart from the regular pen takers guys like Henderson etc only really practice doing one penalty and doing it well.

Do it once in a tournament and everyone knows - look at Switzerland.

Now the Danes know what it feels like to be English in a semi final - arguably the better team but didn't get the run of the ball or the key decision.

Thought Southgate going to a back 5 was mental given we'd been dominant the previous 15 but against 10 knackered men it didn't matter.

Shining a laser pen in Casper Schmeical's face whilst he was facing the "penalty" is a bit low!

The match stats don't reflect that. Something like 20 shots to 8, 60:40 possession etc. They could have won, but on another day, Sterling would have had a brace and McGuire would have scored. It was quite England-Croatia 2018 really.

Or to use a rowing analogy, anyone can win the first 1000 metres.

Very true. Same for managers - Sam Allardyce once said that he'd never have a problem getting a mangererial job if his name was Samuelo Allardicio :)

Every time sterling got the ball and went forward, it felt like something was going to happen. He's been the best player in every match.

When did Sweet Caroline creep into so many sporting events? Did it start with the darts? I'd be content to never hear it again.

You mean where it began? I can't begin to knowing but then I know it's growing strong.

Think it might have been in the spring.

Sweet Caroline as far back as I can remember was a Northern Ireland anthem. In all the games following Wales I have been to at Windsor Park it was always sung by the GAWA.

Watching highlights on the beeb. Two things to note

    1) they're using ITV's commentary. They normally have their own commentators.

    2) Lineker, Shearer and Jenas are all wearing the same trainers.

Not even arguably. The pen was fortunate as was the goal but England were the much better team. Did you watch the match?

England by far the better side over all, though Denmark had some good spells. England totally dominated in extra time.

Best two teams in the tournament have reached the final.
