Ciccone and Nibs are going to get caught, although it did look like Ineos had to do an effort for it

I have a forlorn hope Nibali will put some pressure on people downhill.

Not sure Bernal has much problems heading downhill, mind.

You could almost hear them chuckling as they left the pair of them out there to dangle then shut it down as soon as they'd had enough. At least they're trying something but it felt the wrong time.

Brambilla and Bennett caught out bickering, with Hamliton and the Vendrame off as a duo in the final 2km.

Vendrame then steals a march on Hamilton but he comes back at 1.8km to go.

    Vendrame leads it out...

Hamilton's position doesn't look very aero, elbows worse than Froome

Vandrame sets off at 150m and wins for AG2R

Bennett and Brambilla still bickering as they sprint for third haha

Brambilla cuts across Bennett in the sprint for third to put the icing on the cake. Suspect he'll get relegated for that.

I picked the wrong team mate for PTP.

Agree with Lloyd that Ineos need to just ignore Nibali on this descent. There's no need to take chances.

    Moscon proves the point.

Moscon had a crash following Nibali, seems OK.

As Lloyd said, they should have just let him go.

Moscon donates some serious skin to help resurface the rubbish road surface.

Think that was purely ego by Moscon to prove he could keep up and wasn't scared to try. He's going to be important in the next few days so definitely an unnecessary risk.

Only gained 7" and Ineos could have pushed it harder on the flat if really needed.

    Nibali, good lad.

Seems a bit pointless for 5 seconds. Although forcing Moscon to crash following him was probably worthwhile.

As Lloyd said they probably should have just let him go so Moscon could have chased on the flat bit.

At 14th on GC no risk no reward.

Not sure about that, Ganna spent most of the day riding on the front looking like he was on a club run.

I get the impression Bennett wasn't going to let brambilla win

And Brambilla was not going to let Bennett get third.
