LANDA DOWN - not getting up (but moving) - looks in pain

Not looking good for Landa. Still down and not moving.

Looks pretty bad, don't see him finishing.

    Dombrowski is up and about

Looks like they caught the signaller on the road furniture and went down.

If Kirby was here he would be going on about road furniture and it would probably be fair enough...

Classic Giro stage. 150km of low speeds on wide straight roads then as the pace is picking up throw in lots of twists and turns with street furniture.

Pennant man taken out too, was only thinking earlier that I wouldn't want that job.

Ewan from Nizzolo after Merlier uncliped.

    Ewan from Nizzolo?

I wasn't sure he had come round but Hatch was.

Merlier with an issue, Ewan takes it with Nizzolo getting yet another Giro second place.

One of the lead out riders drifted over to mess up Viviani's lead out.

Oh yeah, Ewan very clear from the overhead.

Ewan did well as he took contact from Merlier when he had some kind of mechanical issue.

Think Merlier may have had his rear mech knocked and then struggling to pedal - dropped chain?

    Landa looked bad

Dombrowski finishing but looks like he may have done a collarbone. Bahrain finishing en bloc without Landa.

Dombrowski looking a bit in pain riding in.

Most of the team waited for Landa but he doesn't look to be coming in with them (unsurprisingly)

So, which Ineos rider will it be this time?

Sivakov, seems like the new Geraint.

I am not sure. You have no chance.

Very messy finish after an incredibly dull stage.

Have to say Cattolica isn't enticing me for a holiday.

Merlier's foot came off his pedal with nobody else involved. Almost took Ewan out.

UAE's lead out is a liability. Why did Gaviria's lead out man drift across to the right while looking over his left shoulder when everyone else had gone right?

They're bigging up the excitement of that sprint finish beyond what it deserves - you can tell there hadn't been much actual racing beforehand and they've nothing to talk about.

    Who won the stage? Ewan?

Rewatched the Landa / Dumbrowksi incident from the overhead again - looks to me like Dumbrowski changed his mind about which side of the traffic island to pass, clipped the marshal on the way through, hit the kerb of the island as a result, and finally took out the other two as he went down in the inevitable heap. Absolutely nothing Landa could do about it.

All watched on supersquintyvision, so it's possible I've misidentified who did what, but the late decision to pass on the other side's definitely what seems to kick it off.

Yes, very strong finish. Came from quite a way back to overtake Nizzolo in the last 70m.

Has anyone in the history of pro road racing had stubbier legs than Caleb Ewen?

Spoiling? The lead out before him had gone back on the left

De Marchi still pink, Nizzolo takes ciclamino, Dombrowski still blue (assuming he recovers)

He would but fortunately he has been exiled to deepest, darkest Hungary.

    What an absolute shiite stage.
I gave up on this total snorefest 25kms out and went out, only to come back to total carnage and find one of the most attacking riders in the GC, down and seemingly out.

Not sure whether Sivakov is unlucky, a poor bike handler, or a combination of both.
Landa clearly hit the marshal, but the real problem is town centre sprint finishes and all the street furniture.
