  • It's the only way England can win. I said last week I preferred SA as we had a slight chance of making it messy and turning it into a dogfight. Working so far but a long way to go.
  • Farrell continues to be a liability

Daly was tackled in the air by Kolbe.
Yet another decision to the Boks from their pet ref.

O'Keefe shows his blatant bias in the scuffle penalty award to the Boks. Utter joke.

England no arms tackle was then completely ignored though. Farrell showing his usual petulance won’t help win the ref over though.

It feels like the TMO teams are becoming more lenient by the match.
  • Agree on Farrell, he needs to learn that refs do not like him.

Feels like NZ 4 years ago where if England are to win it will be in spite of the ref.
  • The fact that all the talk here is about the ref, sums up how boring this game is.
England should win this as long as it remains a game of kick tennis.

Outside half getting hooked after 30 minutes has got to hurt. I was just thinking he might not make it on for the second half but that’s a public humiliation
  • Right call though, his kicking was atrocious. Pollard is bad for us though as he gives them more control.

I am surprised SA have been dragged into the kicking game though, at the moment they are doing exactly what we want.

Definitely the right call. Weather conditions are suiting England’s game. Would have been funny if they’d messed up getting the ball out at the end of the half, was certainly risky.

    Boring, predictable, but efficient.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Meh, even Dawson on the radio said that no-one could say he was favouring SA when he completely missed the no arms tackle by an England player. Sometimes you just have to accept it’s incompetence rather than bias. There’s a whole bunch watching on TV who are supposed to spot these things but seem to be letting more and more of them go.

No way was that a penalty at the final scrum, certain;y not one to SA.
But the same as last week, O'Keefe shows his inherent bias.

I mean given where we started this is a ridiculous statement to make but it's seems ridiculous in hindsight to bring on two props against the two props that did exactly this to them 4 years ago...

I said at the last kick off I was was the SA receiver I'd literally just bat the ball forward, I wouldn't even try and catch it. Penalty, line out, do it again, 3 points.

    ...rinse and repeat...

South Africa so do not deserve to be in the final.
Both weeks O'Keefe has found a way to ensure they win.

I think you may have a bias about O’Keefe’s bias.

The only thing we could've done is kept Marler and Cole on for 10 more minutes if they could've handled it (big If) just to stop exactly that happening...

It's concerning where England's future lies without those 2.

  • On balance England deserved to win, we played the conditions better and executed the game plan more effectively. SA scrum in the last 15mins turned the game and you have to give them credit.

If you had offered us a semi final and that performance pre tournament any England fan would have taken it.

Have to give Borthwick credit, he got the tactics spot on. He still needs to go for the long term benefit but he has earned his due for tonight.

Possibly doesn’t help when you don’t have enough confidence in your bench hooker so the starting hooker has to play a full 80 minutes. Is there really no other hooker in England that is considered good enough to play at that level?

At the end of the day though England played as well as they are probably able, dealt with the conditions (that suited them) better than SA, defended well for much of the match and managed to get defeated by an SA team that looked completely out of sorts. Opportunity lost.
  • I said at the time that SA would be happy to see Sinckler come on.

If the other team can get a penalty at will in any scrum it's going to be tough.

    Really tedious game though.
  • If the ref was so biased, he shouldn't have given that penalty to England when there was no bind in the ruck.
  • referee boo hoo
