That's erm...a rather scary performance from Ireland considering they never really kicked on...

Is it me or is all the faff before kick off getting longer every year?

Wayne Barnes just gave Ireland a belated Christmas present.
Foot in touch, ball in touch and goal, but all good.

From the replays he saw at the time I don't think you could say his foot definitely scraped the ground. Did look like it was grounded on the line though.
Rather convenient that only after the try was awarded did Irish TV show the angle that clearly showed it wasn't a try...........

It’s like watching an amateur game with the handling errors carrying on from last week.

I was watching real rugby earlier (it was far more enjoyable) so missed Ireland v France.

I’ve seen reds given for less than that with the current rules. He would have been high even if North hadn’t slipped and I thought he’d dived into the tackle a bit. Very lucky I think.

How was that a yellow? George North was bent in two, his head was at knee height?
Yet again Welsh medics slow to pull him for an HIA, given GN's history. Should have been away for an assessment immediately.

Mind you as a former front row that sort of thing is porn

Nonsense. He'd have been hit in the midriff if he'd been upright.

It doesn’t matter how low he is, mitigation is only if the ball carrier changes height. He did drop a bit but it would have been at least shoulder height even if he hadn’t. He left his feet as well which usually gets it into ‘high level of danger’.

I'd say you should watch it but it's a bit of a horror film if you're not Irish or french. Difference in class is....hmmm

You'd be angry at a 12 year old winger that dropped that...

It can be mitigated down to a penalty, or even just a rugby collision.
    Head hit - yes
Head height - Very low, so mitigation
Could / Should Tackler have been lower - No, further mitigation

Why do the BBC pundits talk the match up? That was a terrible half of rugby.

Going to be fun for your boys next season when the idiotic rule is introduced.
Or have they seen sense yet?

GN back on. Was he knocked out (in which case he cannot return) or not?

They’ve allowed North back on FFS. Absolute imbeciles.

It's potentially coming everywhere post RWC Blazing.

It will make the game an absolute farce until 2 things are adopted.
The word “accidental” and the ball carrier carrying equal responsibility.
For instance, diving for the line: what is going to happen there?

There will be A LOT MORE responsibility on the ball carrier.
I suspect they'll compromise on under the armpit as in junior and youth rugby.

Owens a bit lucky on that one, no wrap and possible contact with the head but not spotted at all.

Shame if so as they've both been very, very good players.
LW's yellow was a team one mind.
