Oh I hadn't thought of that. Damn it.

He'd have done it I reckon if it wasn't for some well paced tows. And some dodgy time gaps.

    2.33 / 2.34 from winner for Carapaz

2.55 to Roglic so Mr Dull hangs on, just.
  • Think that's a GC winning margin of 24 seconds for Rog there.

What a last few kilometres of racing.

    Meh. Too little, too late.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

At least he's sporting, and can't blame him for playing to his strengths.
Good effort from Carapaz, just a shame it wasn't quite enough.

Carapaz stood menacingly right at the finish line watching the clock as Rog crossed the line.

Great effort from Carapaz. Booo movistar pulling Rog home.

I think they were trying to move Mas up to 4th. Boiled my piss regardless.

Why is Roglic so unlikeable? He's never done anything in particular for me to dislike him, but I do.

Would another 3 stages have made a difference to the GC?

Any time Roglic gets attacked he loses time. It makes you wonder why riders let him dictate so much.

If only Carthy had a kick him and Carapaz could have got the gap sooner but the time to go was when Bennett went out the back.
  • Carlton found it very exciting🙄
  • Thanks again blazing for putting these threads together
  • No change on GC.
    That's Covatilla for you.

Roglic had 32 more bonus seconds than Carapaz over the course of the 17 stages - that's what has won it for him (and a ridiculously strong team again).

Good effort from Carapaz. No problem with Roglic winning though.

He took 32" in bonuses more than Carapaz, mind...
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.
  • So, looks like Rog has 32 more bonus seconds than Carapaz did, preventing what would otherwise have been another Lemond-Fignon.

They were playing it carefully and not riding for the win. Lots of people here blame bonus seconds, but ultimately Roglic was there for the taking and no one really tried. It's a solid effort by Roglic to win when he clearly isn't the best climber and he deserves respect for it.

I don't dislike him, I just think he has one way of winning a GT and plays to his strength. I'm more frustrated that other riders seem to play into his hands.

    Movistar laughable yet again.
