  • Geraint Thomas, sketchy roads, sidewinds, onlookers with dogs. What could possibly go wrong?
  • Thomas 3rd at the split but looking more solid and aero than most.

Will anyone revert to their road bike?
Would seem a sensible option at this point.

For anyone with no GC ambitions it might be the safest option if this wind gets any worse, yeah.
I'm guessing they do the calculation between risk and time gain, and they know more than I do. 😉 Just glad that I don't race and have to make those choices.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Not so much the wind but unswept roads, gravel on corners etc. Didn't Campenaerts say similar in his post stage rant?

Looks like a track compared to the roads I was on yesterday.
    Spoiled so and so's. 😉
Winner happy, loser moans. Nothing new there.

Thomas times it to perfection so as not to have to defend pink. 😉

I don't understand the complaints about it being too windy for a TT. Ride a bike suitable for the conditions.
  • Ganna was not showing much sign of slowing for that first hairpin, was he? Unsurprisingly ended up rather too deep for comfort.

Thomas and Ganna seem to be able to get on the bars more frequently than Dennis did.
  • 60x11 gearing. Beast mode.

Disk wheels in a gale can be fraught. Who was it that was blown into the air and into rock face in giro a few years back?

Interesting Ineos have ditched the tri spoke so hard, after being so involved in improving it and spending so much time with it. Wonder how much better in testing this wheel is.

Rik Verbrugghe averaged 58.874km/h in the 2001 Giro prologue (7.6km). Ganna averaged 58.831km/h today according to PCS.

I would suggest that 7.6km is a prologue

Yeah a prologue is not a TT.
