This is a really stupid way to do PTP, since it clearly favours people able to check the race before 1 pm and change picks accordingly. May be within rules which work in non Covid times, but seems ethically bankrupt to misuse them here this way. If someone forgets to pick (or was previously unable to do so) and tries to make theirs a little late, that is one thing and I think is fine to get leeway, but this is idiotic.
We are doing this for fun. Maybe everyone should honor the spirit of the game instead of being a stickler for rules when it gives them an unfair advantage.PTP Champion 2019, 2022 & 20230 -
I asked that last week and was told, nope. So....
As pointed out, and proven today it doesn't always help anyway. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I suppose it does look a bit iffy from some of us, the Visconti mafia, but it's not going to bring us anything after all.
Before the stage started I'd already decided to choose between Visconti, Haig and Frankiny, but waited before finally deciding in accordance with what has been allowed. In the end I plumped for Visconti because at the time I PTP-ed, Haig was back in the peloton and Frankiny had been trying to bridge to the break for 45 mins and still hadn't made it, so I didn't think he'd succeed.
Eitherway, basically I agree with you, m.r.m. - tips should be before a stage starts.0 -
Ha! Well my picks last night were for a breakaway. I waited to see if Castroviejo or Visconti would make the break and guess what? Flipping the coin didn't help. 😉The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

FCE2007 takes pink into the first rest day.
takethehighroad has the points jersey.
Only 3 players have a GC pick in the left race.
Scores here.
Expect more controversy on Tuesday with an 11.05 BST kick off and a potential breakaway stage...

And I was going to pick Castroviejo before the start let alone cutoff but then wimped out and went seafood instead. Oh well. My bike ride today was good...0

Stage 10 Jhonatan Narvaez
The 12pm cut off causes endless controversy. Trying to move the time around makes it harder to be sure that everyone gets a pick in. It's a clear rule. Nothing to stop any one picking at 1159 - you can all do it...0 -

I'd go so far as to say it has *never* helped me. I always think I'm being clever, but my original tip always seems to do better.pblakeney said:I asked that last week and was told, nope. So....

This was my point - although changing the cutoff to e.g, 11 for the whole race probably wouldn't be such an issue.dish_dash said:Stage 10 Jhonatan Narvaez
