Odd, because she's been following UK guidance almost exactly 2 weeks later.

Pross, agree regarding staffy,s. Ours would beat Usain Bolt when a car or motorbike backfires. Soft as anything loves kids, but frightens adults when he smiles or stretches his jaws. A vastly over exaggerated dog and under rated as are a lot of well brought up dogs. Nastiest ones I've come across are yorkies, Chihuahua,s and most little happy terriers.
Whilst we're on about unpopular to some let's add Mr Hambini, brilliant engineer but lousy PR guy. Tells it like it is without the political correctness BS and nambyism. As an ex OEM and Tier 1 automotive engineer I can tell you certain manufacturers still build censored and others don't. But nobody dare report it publicly for fear of being sued. Hambini just tells it like it is warts and all and in a strange foreign language.

I agree. He doesn't put a spin on anything at all. Stand up guy.

Most men would rather have a Sunday morning ride with this girl.

    Than this girl.

My wife is English and we met before we moved to Snpotland.

If I were hypothetically playing the field here, my first thought would be that neither of them are as peely wally as one would expect.

Past that point I guess it depends how attractive one finds bogof offers.

Nicola Sturgeon will probably say that the English were to blame for the Highland clearances, rather than greedy Scots landowners. Because to suggest otherwise might lead one to acknowledge that land ownership in Scotland is pretty much the least egalitarian in the world.

Even allowing for different times Vera Lynn was never a good singer and We'll Meet Again or White Cliffs Of Dover should never have been heard again once the war ended.

You joke, but that is pretty much what that idiot wrapped in a flag was arguing, and as far as anyone can tell he was completely serious.

People actually use the term 'jock'?

I regularly use this term.* I think this is fair, because "English" is itself a pejorative here. A bit like "Welsh" is in England.

Cyclists over the age of 16 should pay road tax. So long as it all goes on fixing potholes, I'd happily pay £15.00 a year.

My most unpopular opinion in the real world, which people genuinely seem to think is a stain on my character is that I really really don't like dogs.

I particularly like the look owners give you when you recoil to their licking advances and shoo them away.

Yeah, that makes sense. Tax the people that are affected by them not the ones that create them. Maybe non-smokers should pay a tax so that smokers can get private healthcare to stop them clogging up the NHS too.

Weddings, the full day long ones with ceremony, reception and evening disco...rarely worth it. I have total respect for couples who eschew this nonsense for a very small low key event.

Worse than weddings is the... 'Do you want to see our wedding photo's?' and even worse: 'Our wedding video?'.

FFS. That's when I suddenly remember that I left the iron on.

I think people posting popular opinions in a thread about unpopular opinions should continue.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Being woken up at 7.30am on a Sunday morning by the wife for a bit of "hows your father" is a silly idea when there is cycling to be done instead.

That opinion presumably being unpopular with your wife.

To take the post at face value...

Are you aware there is no such thing as road tax? Roads are funded out of general taxation. Motor vehicles pay VED, Vehicle Excise Duty which is a vehicle tax, not a road tax. The government has also chosen to directly link duty rates to emissions.

Therefore, your suggestion taken literally means cyclists would be the only group paying road tax.

If we move past the terminology and ask whether a cycle should incur VED. Answer would be no due to being a zero emissions vehicle.

Should our nation consider more taxation to improve our roads, yes.

Perhaps 'nossexian' would be more apt.
