I'm suprised India continued to bat until the required run rate for England's 2nd innings was over 4.5. Too conservative imo but I shouldn't complain too much as it's meant another 10 overs England haven't had to face.
Back on the topic of the hundred, as I can't cope with talking about Tests at the moment, i still don't get why it was necessary.
I can see it has been a success in terms of the numbers, but how much of that is down to the huge amount of time and money they have spent on marketing the competition? They could have spent that money on marketing the T20 Blast.
It seems to have done wonders for the women's game in terms of attendances also by holding these as double headers with the men's games, which they only did by accident/as a result of COVID, it wasn't planned. Again, they could have done that with the T20 format.
Anecdotally, going by the spectators interviewed on 5LiveX yesterday and the feedback from the pundits, even though the idea was for the games to be short, rather than all day affairs, to make it more attractive to punters, the fact that they have these double headers has meant that more families have come to make a day of it and stay for both games, rather than for a single match.
So in summary they could have tweaked the T20 competition and had the same/similar result in terms of increasing attendance, not that the T20 comp had trouble selling tickets. To improve attendances for the women's comp, they just needed to make the double headers with the men's matches and throw some money at marketing it.

As it seems to be almost the only way to watch live cricket (no sky) I've enjoyed what I've seen of the Hundred. It's a bit gimmicky (wish they'd cut the screen borders down a little) but it's cricket.
Agree with the "Whats the point? Speed up/fix T20 instead" point though.
Amused by Kohli saying it was the England side that fired them up. As I remember it, it was Bumrah that started it with the bouncers at Anderson and England responded likewise.
Clearly mind games again to trigger England, so they need to remain calm.

A truly awful and pathetic 5th day when they were just about edging the rest of the test.
Changes need to be made for the 3rd test.

Also good for Butler to get 3 catches (caveat, I've not seen them, so they could all have been easy)
