This weekend is the 5th anniversary (Friday) of Geraint Thomas's E3 Prijs Harelbeke win.

But that was just a little amuse bouche before Sunday's Gent Wevelgem for the the ages.

Watched the Orica backstage pass again for 2016 Roubaix... still makes me a bit emotional. Great race that.

I watched 2016 PR on Tiz Cycling the other day. They have the full Eurosport coverage (https://tiz-cycling.io/video/paris-roubaix-2016-full-race/)

Apologies if already recommended elsewhere on here, but this is fabulous...

Yet another reminder of what we’ve been robbed of this season - and in particular with MVDP...
I haven’t watched the others yet but have no reason to doubt they’re equally superb.

Yes you lot are in for a treat.

Have been watching the others over the years but looks like you've got a nice translation now!

First time I've been ahead of these. Makes for quite nice evening viewing on EU time...

Apparently GCN have a new show on Eurosport starting this weekend where they are going to show 21 of the best Giro stages and the story behind them etc.. Could be worth a watch.

    Starting in half an hour.
Looks like it's 3 stages per Giro: 2013-19.
    90 minutes each.

I watched the 2011 Tour de France recently, and it's one of the better ones of recent years. The thing that stood out to me was the number of "epic rides" in it.

Hushovd to Lourdes was one that I'd completely forgotten

OK, GCN have blown it by having RCS's contracted English commentator.
    I'm not that desperate...................yet.

This relatively new Twitter account is great for seeing some older races, i.e. a lot of content from the 80s and 90s, but some older and newer stuff too.

Was Hatch today. Wasnt bad. I wasn't really watching races that weren't the Tour in 2013 so its all good for me! I think I was by 2014 though, can't really remember.

Watching that Giro stage today showed that cycling can be very good without much of a crowd.

Not convinced by their classic Giro stage tag though.
I remember that stage as being pretty much a dud, with Hatch filling in for eons while the peloton toodled their way up the Col du Mont Cenis and the hard part of the Galibier chopped off, which resulted in almost zero GC racing.

I would have picked Uran's win on stage 10.

Yesterday's I would have had Hansen's win amongst the wet chaos to Pescara.

I'm guessing their picks were according to whom they could get for an interview as much as anything else.

Carlton Kirby going on about it was "race on" on a descent that was neutralised by the organisers, despite the footage clearly showing them riding down quite sedately.

Good to remind yourself that he was always a cretin.

Hearing his commentary from back then shows he has actually improved, which demonstrates how bad he used to be

Just been pointed out on CN, that it's 10 years ago to the day since the Giro met the (wet) Strade Bianche and delivered one of those "epic" stages.

I'm rewatching the 2016 Tour through Tiz Cycling at the minute. Tell you what, 2016 was a great year for cycling. Maybe James Acaster should do a podcast about that too

Has the commentary been re-recorded for these GCN episodes? As I remember (and have rewatched several times) it was Carlton and Brian Smith commentating on the Fenestre, but they've got Rob Hatch with commentary here. Hatch was on Eurosport later on while they were going over Sestriere
