  • There's no way she's going to solo all the way to the line surely. This is a move for AvB or someone else to bridge, I has to be...

Agreed. Bissegger and Higuita would most likely not have got near the leading 4 without Eekhof's help. It has completely affected the race.

In regards to slipstreaming offences ....if you don't get thrown off the race before the finish line you get a pass is my take. You can still get tough on slip streaming but as everyone points out post race is a distortion.

The Dutch have to chase and get on with it . Fluten ain't going to make it.

  • Surely she's gonna tire.

Why bother. AvdB will be delivered on a platter?

Can't see Deignan taking it, her results haven't been great over the season, compared to previous years. Longo-Borghini has also been a bit lack luster this season. Maybe Owen, if it is not one of the Dutch.

Lizzie D said she’s stronger than ‘15 when she won - and she’s finished top ten 5 times since 2010. So let’s not rule her just yet...

Surely if the chase group closes van Vleuten then van der breggen will just win... shes not doing anything.

She’s pulling out more time. Insane ride
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.
  • Just bananas. The chasers just aren't gaining time.

Chasers all trying to keep plenty back for when van Vleuten gets caught problem is they're not going to pull her back without working together. Wind looks a lot kinder for a solo rider today.

Poor tactics in the chase group, just work together to get the gap back to manageable proportions before trying the big attacks. The gap is just going out all the time. Looks windier than I'd originally though.

    This is incredibly dull.

With the exception of Deignan and Dygart (and VDB who is tight to sit on) you wonder what they’re thinking to not organise and chase.

Why are riders in the chase group missing turns? Lizzie and the Italians are the only ones really trying. I actually hope van Vleuten stays away as I don't want to see someone taking it after wheel sucking their way around like the men's U23 race.

Thinking of medals instead of winning?

I guess. But Jesus. Talk about lack of ambition.

2.37" at the start of the circuit. It looks more likely the peloton will catch the break than the break will catch the leader.

Peloton at 4.03". Barring a blow up or mishap it looks like only one winner here.

Dygart gets a gap, Lizzie chasing. She's looking too desperate to win this and is struggling to hold on.

Balls. I reckon Dygart will move away now. She’s strong.

Lizzie's gone now. Tactically naive race by her surprisingly, just too keen I think.
