A this is a forum on the internet about cycling
B its mostly supposition and opinion
But it is fairly obvious when the supposition and opinion has some logic and evidence behind it, and when it's just tendentious (and tedious) trolling.

Why? It's a widely-understood and perfectly valid reference towards someone who is misrepresenting someone else's position to meet their own ends. Kind of like what you are doing at the moment...

    I still find Millar unpalatable

For the benefit of those demanding evidence, please refer to his comments and behaviour following his arrest, subsequent innocence plees , later ban, subsequent books and self created deification .

any success he may have had is instantly outweighed by the fact he is a liar, a doper, a cheat and a coward.

Bit weird that grown men are obsessively posting on the internet about it though?

Well it depends on your moral compass as to wether criminal activity for sporting and financial gain is acceptable.

Yeah I mentioned this but apparently objecting to cheating marks you out as a sanctimonious hypocrite.

I was caught speeding a couple of years ago and sent on a driver awareness course.
Since then I've been more conscious about driving safely and have even preached this on occasion.
Based on the bulk of this thread, that must make me a hypocrite and a coward.

Did you speed for professional, contractual or financial gain?

Did your speeding adversely affect those that were not speeding and deny them professional and financial gain, including triumph and personal satisfaction in winning?

Did you deny speeding or use a defence of “well everyone is doing it” until beyond doubt you were convicted?

Have you subsequently laid the blame on others and wrote prose on how you were a victim?

If yes to any of the above then yes, you are indeed a hypocrite and a coward, if not the the 2 are not comparable.

theres Nothing like equivalence is there. I used to pick my nose at the table and got told off for it. Later I told my kids off. I’m as bad as a rapist that has become a women’s rights advocate.

did you take illegal drugs to aid ypur speeding?

did you pay people to supply you with illegal drugs?

did you steal other people's hard work when you took drugs to speed?

did you at first lie really badly about your speeding then cry because you didn't have the cojones to own up to your speeding?

did you preach on and on and on and on about how bad your speeding was after ypu wete busted?

he might have kept illegal drugs in his glove box but only to remind himself never to speed or take illegal drugs.

he might have broken down and cried in the back of the police car when he got caught

his sister might be in pr

I didn't speed for gain. I didn't deny it, or seek to lay the blame elsewhere. I didn't pay anyone to speed.
I didn't even get as far as a police car, let alone cry in the back of it.
My sister is not in PR.
But I do keep my tongue firmly in my cheek.
