"Si" Clarke in the break. I can almost hear the collective groan of Eurosport viewers.

Long day in the armchair for them!

Sporza not live for another 20 mins or so.

Well I don't think they will make the finish .

It's a pain in the arse. With ITV on a break every 5 minutes, it means I have to suffer Kirby from time to time.

As I suggested earlier. Bora and Sunweb controlling the gap.

Rick: Sporza talking down Thomas for tomorrow and up for the third week?

Yes, consensus in Belgium (not Boonen) is his build up was not good enough.

Bunch being killjoys and keeping the break on a very short leash indeed. Interested to see if WVA tries anything, a few bonifications/a small gap and he's in yellow. Obviously that would still be a pretty tough task

Could well backfire after the sprint. By then they will be lucky to be 40s ahead and in bridgeable range.
    46kph average is ridiculous.

Yes Swifty warned that that would be the case if they got too close, looks to be fine now around 2 mins.

Bunch looking very relaxed to say they're only a couple of mins from the sprint, as Matt and Ben head through the feed zone

Thought Sagan would do better there.

I think he has looked a bit sluggish in sprints so far this tour as a whole. Could see him doing another 2015 and winning green without any stages

If I finally get to do the planned holiday to the Italian lakes next year I think I might book a couple of nights stopover in this area, very pretty.

I'm not sure "sluggish" is quite the right word... I think in the past he's made up for slightly poor positioning by forcing a way through somehow, but is maybe a little reluctant to do so this year - knowing he needs to finish the race to take the record 7th green jersey.

He was a tyre away from the 1st stage and a it boxed in yesterday, on a finish that favoured the pure sprinters.
He's not out of the top 5 on an individual stage yet.

I think he'd be pretty happy with that. Only being beaten by Viviani and ahead of Matthews who I suspect he'd consider his main rival for green. Also Sagan and Matthews would probably hope to be at the sharp end in the finish today, whereas Viviani wouldn't, so they'd likely be holding more back.

I would agree that we're not seeing prime Sagan so far though. He seems to be a little lacking in top end without performing any better on climbs. Pretty high bar though...

Some very nice scenery indeed today! Such a picturesque part of the world. Bunch looking very relaxed, think I might pop out for a short spin while there's nothing occurring

Just switched on to see after this comment, and it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Was an advert for holidays in Almeria.
