Seemingly trivial things that intrigue you

And now back to Earth.... Where have all the £2 coins gone? Not seen or had on in change for what seems like 2 years. Is it just me?
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

The £2 coins are for sale on fleabay for £9.99, plus postage.
Intriguing me today: a letter, old school indeed, from Nationwide informing that the interest rate on their credit card will increase from 15.9 to 20.9%. Not interested in that as such, bankers gonna bank, replace 'b' with 'w' as appropriate. And that interest rate appears minuscule compared with some other 'providers'.
It's that I've never knowingly paid interest on a credit card. Always pay off in full, the credit card is a means of holding off deducting monies for up to 6 weeks. Mayhap I'm some sort of weirdo but, I've never 'spent' money I don't have. Ignore mortgages and the like, this is about day to day living transactions. Live to one's budget. And if one needs extra funding, don't pay rip off levels of monthly interest. Or am I missing something?

My brother in law lives off finance, credit cards etc.
His idea of budgeting is basically looking at ingoings and outgoings and measures his costs on that basis.
So he won't really look at the total cost of something, or at least, that is lower down the priority order.
But say he has £5k a month coming in and he has £4.5k going out - he has £500 a month spare to spend on say, a financed car.
He'll get those credit cards where if you pay off x amount you don't have to pay interest on the rest. That just goes into the monthly in-out calcualtion.
He would never just buy a car cash because overall it is £2k cheaper (like I just did).
Good for him. He's driving around in a fancy merc and his wife a fancy SUV - their child is kitted out with all the nicest things - prams, toys etc.
They combined earn about 1/3rd I do and they have all the fancy stuff and I don't. He sees that as a result for him.

Until he is made redundant.

Yeah. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night.
Hell I get stressed about the upcoming £6k of expenses I’m about to rack up on my credit card - and I’m getting that paid back!

Clearly not a typical one...

My best man (also an accountant) used to live his life according to next year's salary. He wised up and somehow managed to retire aged 40. Marrying an accountant who still works might have had something to do with it.
How does Prudence, your sister, see it?

Just to reiterate this quasar star is 600,000,000,000,000 brighter than the sun and it gobbles up a sun a day. Doesn't that just make everything seem trivial?

Something that has zero impact on me, anyone I know and probably no-one at all feels about as trivial as it gets

Basically, zero shits are being given.

But it's not as big as TON 618 or Phoenix A.

Despite its impressive size, it is still smaller than TON 618. Therefore, when it comes to size, TON 618 reigns supreme as the largest known black hole. The mind-boggling magnitude of its mass serves as a testament to the awe-inspiring enigmas that our universe holds
Nice Stevo. That is blood big, wow!

It's lucky we have Elon Musk to push humanity to the stars and learn more about the universes incredibleness.

Last effort did give us something to laugh at. There's a positive attitude. 😉

Phoenix A is the new Daddy - 100 billion solar masses.

What's 90 miles as a fraction of Phoenix A?
