Come on Ugo you have struggled to managed 25 mph on 10 mile tt you aren’t going to win a road race.

I don’t think you understand my initial question, hence you are blurbing some unrelated nonsense.
I will try to explain to you again, as you have on other occasions proved to be able to put 2 and 2 together. In most virtual platforms you only race against other users, but I discovered that on RGT you race other users as well as virtual bods created by the app, they are called pacers and they do not exist. They can have any performance the algorythm choses, so typically they match your speed to give you the impression of a balanced race. Basically they are there to push you. But then, they appear in the results of the race too.
So, I was asking other users of this app ( you are after all on the RGT thread) what their thoughrs are about this? Like it, loath it?

    Got it now?

I know what boomer means clearly it’s a reference to my age. If you as educator were to make reference to some one’s age in a discussion as a way to end the discussion. I suspect you might be having a few days off work.
Don’t try to be wise with me.

I'm not an RGT user, but that seems daft to have pacer bots in a race. I'm sure there would be uproar if that happened on Zwift.
  • Just started up WahooRGT to see announcement that it goes to the turbo app graveyard end of Oct '23.

Wahoo going to "concentrate" on Systm.

Monthly and annual RGT subscribers should receive email with code for some free Zwift time.

Sad times - not been on it for a decent while, my laptop isn't up to the job, but it had a great community, and really good riding dynamics.

nothing sad… the platform was deserted… won’t be missed

The courses are few and uninspiring, the thing that you have to touch the screen to move sideways and overtake while you are doing 400W in a race is just stupid… the races are filled up with bots, to compensate for the number of riders in single digit. The magic road thing is a faff and without axrealistic footage is pointless… The workouts are not accessible in the free version… I never had a good workoutcon RGT and only used it in desperation, when Fulgaz did not work (most of the time) or I did not have a subscription to Rouvy…

I'd have to disagree, and see it very differently.

They opened up the full features of the platform during lockdown, and I really enjoyed my time on it, and did subscribe after that period was up.

The magic roads with the tools to perfect the courses elevation and turns was brilliant imho, and there were a load of enthusiastic people who spent time creating different courses, and hosting various race series throughout the year, and in multiple time zones.
Elimination races, time trials, team time trials, climbing competitions and training camps, as well as multi stage races.
    These were well attended.

The admins and devs were also on hand to answer queries and questions, and the community was amazing at helping resolve issues.

I never tried the workouts, as I have a TR sub.

Not enough users - I don't care about online racing enough to plan ahead and find events with enough entries. For me it was as simple as that. I don't think zwift was necessarily a better platform - though I don't hate the gamification features - it just got there first.

The steering thing would have put me off if I hadn't already abandoned it though - I dont like it in zwift either but at least you can just leave it to others.

Maybe it was good in 2020... in 2023 it was dire... looks like they had given up on it. No matter what time you got on a course, there was nobody else

DC Rainmaker has put out a YT video on the closure. At one point he logged in and there were 35 users online *globally*. At the same time Zwift had 3900.

Anyway, it seems Wahoo are offering Zwift subscription to replace the outgoing RGT ones and something to do with the Wahoo X System accounts on subscription. I'll have to rematch for the details, but I just looked on the Wahoo site and annual subs are £135, which if it gives a year free Zwift is a saving on the Zwift subs. Unless the mooted Zwift annual subs actually materialise and offer a discount, as opposed to increasing the monthly cost and just rolling up the 12 months.
