Nothing much as far as I can tell.

GMC is trying to show he had a serious aversion to following basic, boring medical practice rules, Freeman is trying to get off by claiming that Shane Sutton was mean to him...

I reckon Freeman ordered the testosterone to be delivered to BC deliberately so he could use it as blackmail against anyone threatening his position by claiming it was for them ...

(because, why would there be one traceable package delivered, with no audit-able records of who it was for - it wouldn't be difficult to get it in without being traceable and a one off delivery is a bit suspect - if it was genuine, then why no records?)

I don't get the impression that Freeman is so Machiavelian. And would be so easily refuted (if not necessarily disproved) to make him look stupid. There must be a reason though. And I'm amazed we've not heard it clearly.

Sutton's truncated evidence ruled admissible by the tribunal.

One explanation would be to cover up the accidental discovery of the untraceable stuff.

The Freeman case may have been delayed, but I see that Jess Varnish has been given leave to appeal. Which in light of some of the stuff coming out of the Freeman case might serve her well.

Damien Collins is no longer chair of the DCMS committee.

  • We are off again. The testogel was because Sutton couldn't get ' it on the big ring' as expected and Freeman couldn't say no. Now he's destroying a second laptop with a screwdriver?

Destroying a laptop (or at least the hard drive) should be pretty much standard practice when disposing/recycling it. The company I work for employ a specialist disposal service that collects used IT equipment and shreds the living f*** out of it.

I showed my kids how to smash a hard drive to pieces with a hammer when I disposed my last non-work laptop. That only had personal data*, not e.g. patient data, but there would have been enough for a bit of identity theft and hacking if anyone had recovered it. The laptop wasn't in working order, or I'd have just wiped the HD.

*Obviously including my plans for a violent revolution to overthrow the UCI, impose mandatory short colour rules punishable by death and employ cloud seeding planes on the day of Paris-Roubaix

D'ye think there are more important things going on in the world? Or will Roaneo be wittering again?

    Shakes head, moves on...
  • I think it's quite important seeing as Murdoch jnr is involved and the integrity of Team Sky is in question. Freeman has unfortunately got in the middle of it and been dropped like a fat sprinter on the Alto de los Machucos

Off topic, but why not just use kill disk?
  • Oh good, another dead end of a story for the thread that couldn't be allowed to die.

I've been to a place which industrially destroys used computers. They literally go through a massive sci fi style shredder fed by a conveyor that you could imagine James Bond being put into then escaping from.

It's standard for a lot of companies to send all their old computers there. Although, I would have thought most companies keep important data backed up...

FWIW, which to be honest is SFA, I had a collection of old hard drive units which over the years and multiple sequential upgrades and replacements had been put aside In cupboards because... security innit. Purged aka binned them. After repeated power drillIng through the units. Ain't noone gonna read these boys now. Screwdriver? Amateur.

    Anyways... time to move on.
  • Just repurpose them as grinders or polishes. Plenty of vids on YouTube.

I still got two old PCs and three old laptops and I know not to discard them. I'd destroy the hard drive if I knew how. (Yes, I could look it up).

My last unwanted hard drive was violently attacked with a hammer and chisel, then driven over with a JCB. Because I don't trust my technical abilites to clear it electronically. Edit to add: this was by the recommendation of our local computer firm, who could have made money by wiping the disk for me!

If they still work kill disk will take about 5 mins of reading to understand.

I'm just trying to imagine the headline if he'd sent his laptop for disposal without ensuring the HD was clean, potentially with patient data etc. on it.

We're at the beginning of the Giro, the 'Spring' classics are on, and the MTB World Championships - yet some journalists think this is more important/newsworthy.
It's a pretty 'dodgy' episode, but it was 9 years ago, I no longer care; in fact, I'm fed up of seeing the same photo of the not esteemed Dr.

A shock turn of events today as Shane Sutton barged into the courtroom, naked from the waist down, pointing at his engorged member, yelling "Say Hello to my Little Friend!"

Doesn't look great. So now the testosterone wasn't returned, but was washed down the sink instead.

I dont know why he is bothering to go.

Go where, to the tribunal? Presumably he wants to continue working as doctor.

It still feels like cow level of excuses at the moment. We haven't got to dead twin brother level.

Not sure 'handing it to experts' counts as 'disposing/recycling it; :)

I have to admit to childishly chuckling to the constant references to Miss Meats alongside those of Sutton's erectile dysfunction in the BBC article. It sounds like a Carry On film "Miss Meats, did you help Mr Sutton with his little problem?".
