Good on him. He’s definitely a multi faceted character.
Don’t think that’s been done for the cameras either as that’s been filmed from a long way away.

You don’t think our hero with his camera phone managed to evade umpteen layers of security and successfully filmed this?

Who cares? The point is Boris was in like a king fisher. Any other PM would have been tip toeing around for yonks and still wouldn't have the tenacity to get in.

    I'd question the kingfisher comparison.

    Sealion maybe?

Clothes that fit are a sign of being in the metro elite though.

Whatever. Can’t stand the man but I don’t have to knock everything he does.
He does run and ride and why not take a splash in the sea. He’s a big unhealthy bloke but not a total couch potato.

Indeed, but if you think someone didn't tell the camera to be there, and capture the touching moment with Carrie... you're very naive.

Still, would you dive in like a kingfisher carrying a bit of extra luggage knowing the cameras are waiting?

At least it's less embarrassing than whichever PM it was who slipped on the pebbles when at their party conference...

    Ah, that'll be the one.

Mind you, I still quite like his speech when he turned on Militant Tendency, even if he was a windbag most of the time otherwise.

You seem determined to want to call me naive.

In my original post, I said “don’t think” so I was open to the possibility it was staged but gave the benefit of the doubt.

I 100% guarantee the press are there getting footage from where they can and not everything will be set up. It’s not like he’s a B list celeb that needs to create photo ops to stay in the news, he’s the prime minister. Not exactly flattering footage of a tubby old man.

Is it my imagination or has Patel been sidelined a bit recently? We get the daily Secretary of State or more junior ministers doing the media rounds but I can't recall seeing her at all for a while.

It begs the question why didn't Cummings blow the whistle at the time? Also if Johnson thought the situation was so dire why didn't he take control? I'm pretty damn sure Thatcher or Tony Blair would have done.
