Gavin & Stacey is bang on my age bracket so that helps.

Not a day goes by where someone I know quotes a line. I can watch it again and again and always find new bits to laugh with.

    seriously? like seriously seriously?
    Yeah.

Basically all my friends, my family, we all love it to bits.

That sounds like what Brexiteers say when people suggest that there are a lot of people in favour of remain........

Allo Allo is like Only Fools and Horses - really needed to be stopped many series sooner than it was; it seemed funny at the time but of course comedies often do when you are young enough not to have seen it all before. And, of course, Allo Allo is really a piss take of Secret Army rather than the real events; you'd need to be familiar with both to get Allo Allo.

Ftfy -- but yes, I have to agree with you -- I'm an old fart man -- used to like the young ones back in the day when I was around that age ( it was a bit topical so there's that to consider ) but saw an episode some time ago and, your right I don't find it funny now. You'll be the same with G and S one day, until then enjoy.

Contrary view. I 'get' Mrs Brown's Boys. Is levelled innit, you got yer obvious and you've got your we know what we are doing with this.

I saw their live show some years ago, the only tickets available for that tour in the entire country were for a Sat matinee in Sheffield, just a 300 mile round trip. The ad lib-ing and the interplay between the cast was clear and obvious, no VAR required.

Just because you 'get' something. doesn't make it funny.
It's a bit like modern jazz - you can explain it all you like but to me, it's cr4p.
I met real life w@nkers of the w@nker ilk in offices that were portrayed in 'The Office'. The Office wasn't funny.
I have witnessed bullying, back biting and bitching in offices worse than what I ever witnessed/was on the receiving end - in the playground.

Well that's just it. What you find funny is as much a matter of personal taste as what food you like. And just like food, you can have technically very clever comedy that still leaves you with a straight face, and really basic formulaic stuff that has you sniggering away in spite of yourself.

Have to agree -- was in that type of environment about 15 years ago -- the guy that was my manager even looked like Gervias. But he wasn't stupid like Brent, he was a clever devil but the main thing they had in common was that he thought everyone loved him. In reality everyone was sh1t scared of him cos he would sack you if he simply didn't like you and make up some bull about you. A thoroughly unpleasant w@nker who liked to take you for a review every couple of months and show you a manufactured set of comments he'd went round and collected from the other employees. He was too nosey about all your business. It makes my blood boil even remembering the kunt -- I had to get out of there cos I was on the verge of converting his office into a blender.
