    I did the nerdy thing.

Froome will be 34 in May.

I think, statistically, only 16 people (from what I can glean from the graphs) has won a GT at the age of 34 or older. I had to look up the others - Horner for example. He skews the averages, (the dirty rotten son of a motherless goat). So I went on numbers.

    Out of a possible 251*.

*Disqualifactions and being stripped of wins makes the total number of GT winners slightly difficult.
Much was made of Cadel Evans at 34 years and too old and Froome is going to be the same age. Think they'll throw the kitchen sink at it. They also got Mr Sports Personality too to keep on side too and he's only a year Froome's junior. Tough call for sure.

What's the betting that Mitchelton–Scott will shift priorities to the TdF?
It's reasonably mountainous. That means that Sky will have to define who's team leader in advance, shirley?
Does Froome give up on number 5 if G Thomas is elected as team leader and go for one of the other 2 tours?
Does Sky go for the plan A, Plan B, Plan A again in the TdF? Would Thomas be content with that?

S Yates and TDom are riding the Giro
Oh the Tour should be a toss up between Froome and Mr Thomas then. Free lunch for Sky.
You think someone else would show up with fresh legs at the Tour :?

It will be an interesting year though as with BMC this year, if there is no new big sponsor then riders will be leaving. So Sky will want to be putting themselves in the shop window all year and be seen winning but if riders lose faith, the Team roster will suffer and weaken and Sky won't quite be able to dominate races. Funny old game. Might be the Columbian at another Team if another Team wants him. Be nice to see how much TGH has got under the bonnet too; I think he is equal to the Columbian and he can TT too :) If no new Sponsor, Sky will want to be hitting the ground running before riders leave.

I think 2020 will be more interesting. In 2019 Sky will have as good a year as ever, whereas CCC will be rubbish.

ok, so who are the young Colombians (Columbian isn't a country, it's a clothing company)?
Lopez is quite young, Chaves not,Bernal obviously, Sosa won't be riding. Who else?
Basically you're saying Lopez or Bernal will be busted?

I assumed a particular Columbian being Bernal as we're talking about Team Sky. Not Sergio Henao either ;)

Froome and Thomas going for the Tour, Bernal is leader for the Giro.

Guessing they might throw everyone at la vuelta if DB has not secured a sponsor by then.

It'll be interesting to see who's left the Team by then. So much to happen before. New Sponsor? If no new Sponsor, who's going to leave with offers being put under their noses.

Rumours suggest Comcast will provide 60-70% of required budget for 2020 -2021 without naming rights. That make a good deal for a company who can/will pick up the rest of the tab. If true.

If that is for two years, with no commitment to pick up the rest of the tab afterwards - agreed, it's a great deal for someone.

Blimey, wonder why they would want to do that?
    Some kind of philanthrophy?
Or is it because they would need to pay everyone out of their long term (in some instances) contracts?

With a £40 million p.a. budget that's still a big lump to find. I guess they might shrink the budget down to Quick Step's size budget (£18 million??) and then it's possible. Unless they get Gianni Savio on board and have 50 different Sponsors on the kit
