Nope was in response to @seanoconn BTW.
Chicken chasseur (sp) tonight).
I'm on my lonesome tomorrow night so have a half leg of lamb to go in the slow cooker with some garlic and red wine etc. May post pics if I can still see straight.

I was going to try a Gregg Wallace recipe, but didn’t fancy arsehole in hot water, so a Spanish lentil stew it was.
I added plenty of extra ingredients, making it a (very much) non-traditional Spanish recipe:
Onion, garlic, leek, green/brown lentils, potatoes, green beans, carrots, courgette, red pepper, shredded kale, tin of tomatoes+ puree, lemon juice. And thankfully no broken glass.
Spices:
Paprika, smoked paprika, mustard seeds, chilli flakes, cumin, coriander, turmeric.

Yay! It's Masjer. How you doing?

I’ve been lurking around for a while, keeping BR alive with my 3 post weekly average.😀
Looks like one of my cats is on the way out (weight loss/constantly sleeping). 18 years old and seems to be fading. Amazing cat, that one. Not looking forward to the (probably) one way visit to the vets.

Oh no. That's a bloody good innings though and not lost to a car. Well done. He/she has stuck around, so you must be doing something right.

Cat no 2 is 18 too, amazingly.
Has the Beans' Jolly Walk thread closed for winter? Flooded ditch?

Well, Beans sometimes wants a spontaneous jolly and i'm left unarmed (without camera/phone) . Also, too dull for any discernible pics. We tip toe across the marshlands if I haven't got time to don the wellies. So cross fingers i'll have my phone with me and i'll try and catalogue the next, edge of your seat with excitement jolly walk adventure in pictures.
Meanwhile and talking of old cats, in North Wales, Bud of the bay is still going. He has an owner (and a huge following) and I had the honour of meeting Bud when we went food shopping whilst on holiday there last year. He decided to sit on me when I was waiting on a 'bench' for Mrs P to return. Shorty begged me to go back and see him during our stay. So we did. He spends most of his time hanging around there.

Is this forum full of Xyr old (middle class people of a certain age) people with 27 cats?

In other news, afore mentioned lamb is in the slow cooker with a full garlic and some other bits, rosemary, sweet potato, carrots and onion. The only red in the house is a Ripasso which won't go well with lamb so I'll go nip out in a bit and find something suitable.
A Chianti will go well with lamb as the sharp elements of a clasico will cut through the fattiness of the meat.
Similarly a rosso del montepulciano will do but it depends who has what in the village.

*one needs a road trip to the house to bring back some decent wine, all this flying is bad for the wine stocks*

Not sure what the certain age is, but I'm probably over it and have dogs. Maybe we should ask Gregg Wallace?

Speaking of cats. Riddle me this, my parents adopted their 4th dog in 18 months but only have one dog. How?

They're Korean?

Haitians have moved into the area. ‘ They’re eatin’ the dawgs, they’re eatin’ the cats, they’re eatin’ the pets of the people that live there.'
They are adopting elderly dogs?

Stolen by aliens?

Kit form? One leg at a time?
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

All good plausible guesses. Unfortunately my parents have a rare talent for eliminating greyhounds, the oldest was 5 years old.
I’m surprised the kennels let those two death dealers adopt any more dogs.

The Harold Shipman of dog adoption? They are clearly doing summat wrong!!
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

I hate 'that' trip. My mate's pedigree blue has just turned 19, bloody good innings for a pedigree cat.

My brother has adopted several hounds, he has two currently. He tends to get them to around 10 years old. Your parents are only giving these dogs half a life seano! 😂

My sole owner has 1 man, not 27.

Some sort of vegan pies I picked up with hasselback potatoes, cauliflower cheese and pan fried savoy with garlic and rosemary in a butter sauce. A light gravy to accompany.

Lasagne, side salad, some garlic bread and a Merlot to wash it down me/us.

Scraping the bottom of the barrell (fridge) meal, smoked salmon pasta made with onions, garlic, pepers and few mushrooms served with peas and carrots. Turned out pretty good.

Last night was Prawn risotto. Probably never again. But the texture and flavours were good having followed a different recipe which I will use for a chicken based one.

Oklahoma onion smash burgers. Two 20% fat beef patties, loaded with thinly sliced onion, plenty of seasoning, smashed down into a hot pan, topped with cheese, served in a lightly toasted brioche bun, with pickle and a mustard, mayo & ketchup blend sauce. As good as 5 guys at about 20th of the price
reminds me, I need forgot to buy cheese.
