  • worth noting the three wildcards still have all 8 riders to the finish ( apart from DE who lost Taaramae)

    That's bloody remarkable

I’ve asked on the Tour spectators thread with no luck, can someone recommend a decent place to watch on the finish circuit please? Preferably somewhere less crowded so I don’t have to stand on the barriers hours in advance? I was thinking of watching them come through the Bois de Boulogne but suspect I’ll then struggle to get onto the circuit with a chance of seeing anything.

Rue de Rivoli around the red kite on the left hand side of the road. Plenty of space on the left side of the road when I was there a couple of years back. Even got hit in the face with a handful of gels.

Thanks for that, is that the gardens side?

We were on the Rue de Rivoli last year and it wasn't possible to get on the Gardens side - the barriers were flush against the fence. Probably to make control of security easier. Got a spot on the barriers just outside the swanky hotel but had to be there several hours in advance of the Caravane.

I’m at kilometer 25. It’s cooled down a lot and it’s very windy. Eating my free Haribos

Just a heads up that ITV switching coverage to ITV1 means that your ITV4 series link will be thrown out.

Either Craddock hasn't taken up his usual position or he's found a way to get dropped in the neutralised zone.

Lots of riders making sure to congratulate Thomas. More than usual?

Nice British Red Dragon flag with Rowe and Geraint there. Think it celebrates St George.

Massive thanks to Blazing for the thread openers!

It's a lovely sunny 30 degrees with moderate breeze up the valleys here in the Hautes-Alpes.

That's awesome and I've just been browsing Gareth Enticott's research output linked on his twitter, some interesting stuff there.

Looks like just Prudhomme's usual glad handing, "thanks for making my company a ton of money this summer".
Froome being a true pro by enquiring about the time cut-off for GC.

Suspect today's the wrong day to try and wind up any welsh cycling fans on here - there's much more important business to attend to.

    And Chavanel goes...

That's not bad, but check this reminiscence out from the 2007 Grand Depart:

Me: "Hey, Geraint, good luck today."
    GT: "Oh, cheers. Ta."

Have we had any jokes about the whale from Wales winning?

It was the jersey what clinched it!
