Seriously though, the pic of the girl getting sprayed in the face is disgraceful.

    Equal rights innit!?

    Only when it suits.

I wouldn't be impressed if it was done to a bloke either. It's not like she's actually being violent or resisting arrest in that photo.

Thug in a uniform, hopefully gets what's coming to him some time.

Some expert punditry from Matt Stephens on twitter

    @RealStephens
I feel for the riders in the Tour today as when I was a police officer I once pepper sprayed my own testicles when I fell off a gate whilst attending a rural incident and my gas canister exploded into my groin.

Maybe she was spitting at the riders. A few so-called fans on alpe d'huez could have done with a little spraying the other day.

Movistar got 9th and 15th on the stage
    Lotto Jumbo got 6th

Tomorrow everyone will complain Sky have too many in the lead group and they're too strong.

Maybe it's because they're not dicking about

French Police - acted the big one when faced with a few hay bales and vocal but not a real threat farmers. Totally ignoring drunk idiots all over the road and inside the barriers on AdH

(Francois commented on the CP that both the farmers and the police are thouroughly accustomed to dealing with each other...I don't think the farmers got many second chances)

Yeah - he won Amstel with a punctured kidney (and still downed the winner’s beer) too.

Lotto Jumbo *can't* be conceding from less than a minute off the podium.

    Yeah.

The lotto riders have been getting so much love in Holland for their attacking riding and I wouldn't under-estimate that.

After the Alp stage the avondetappe sat Kruiswijk down in front of the TV in their editing suite on the mountain and went through his ride moment by moment, waxing lyrical, and all the big names (Jan Janssen, Zoetemelk, van Looy) all saying how wonderful it all is.

Gesink is getting love bombed for his more attacking non-GC style since the death of his father.

I think that plays into their mentality too.

Wonder what Greipel makes of that....

No doubt by hanging onto the odd vehicle or two.
Meanwhile, Moaning Madiot to have another go at Sky cheating... :P

All in all, that turned out to be a pretty easy day's work for the leader's team.

It shouldn't come to the end of the stage to find out how serious the damage is. I don't know what the answer is though.
