So how did GvA get away with the break? Was everyone else caught napping or do they just not really care?

Second option I reckon. I mean he isn't actually a threat to the GC teams and the fewer days people have to defend the yellow jersey the better.

I suspect that it will come back quite a lot in the end, but even if it doesnt theres the rest of the week to sort it

Eurosport player is 4K behind ITV coverage!!!

The usual ambulance-chasers and insurance-floggers. Loving the Harvester one but why is Lloyds Bank pushing mental health? Bankers trying to appear to be humane?

Was that Sarkozy in the car with Prudhomme?
It looked like it. Obviously having a politician on corruption charges Isn’t bad for the image of the race.

Break will start falling apart soon, they're starting to believe the stage win is possible which in turn means they'll be less likely to work to try to hold something back. I'd forgotten there were two climbs remaining so still a chance most of the break will get mopped up.

Sarkozy, Macron. Is there a maximum height limit for French leaders nowadays?

I've no need for one, mine in the garden between trees - 2 ft off the ground.

So is Gallopin a potential springboard for a Bardet attack?

    Or is that wishful thinking?

A Fortuneo rider seems to be on the attack, while Eurosport give us some stuff about mountain trains with vintage Lil' Pete and a Spotty Porte footage.

Bit unconventional - don't the neighbours have something to say about that...?

Has shiite season Barguil rediscovered his Tour form, or is this a false dawn?

France2 running an inset with Wawa.

Was that respectful booing/thumbs down from a fat, old spectator (not trying to be overly derogatory, but that's what he was!)

    Twiddle tempo in charge.
This stage needs Dan martin to light a fire under it.
