Yes I got that impression watching the YouTube clip. It does seem a lot of force on a small contact point, let alone a pro going full tilt.

Hope it's one of those concepts which actually comes to fruition, because it does look more efficient.

The design was originally made in the late 19th century and, unsurprisingly, it never caught on.

Again, I don't really see what problem it's trying to solve.

Come on Rick this is hardly the same, also with that attitude you would still be riding a dandy horse.

I guess actual physical proof of this (with gear changes) needs to be attainted first, but it's supposed/looks to be more efficient. That's the salient reason.

Hey, I just like to see innovation.

I’d be curious to see if it was more efficient, given a chain is already very efficient.

Yep. It needs the data to backup the concept and claims. I can see it ending up like some of the outlandish concept cars (show grabbing headlines). Hope I'm proved wrong.

The YouTube clip is good, demonstrates where they are at.

I hadn't clocked the fact that UAE were riding zipperless jerseys (from Champion Systems). As you can imagine they're saying they are so breathable you don't need to unzip for cooling and of course more aero...

    Yeah.

Can't be fun getting those off.

Similarly, some teams have bags to put their TT numbers in nowadays.

Good! After seeing them riding the TT on bikes with standard calipers in front of the forks it made me wonder whats happened with Cervelo? Putting everything behing the triathlon/IM rigs and disc brakes maybe, but will be interesting what Dumoulin makes of them or if they develop/bring out something new for Sunweb.

Why don't Cervelo seem to have R&D?

Yeh, I knew Vroomen had set up OPEN but they seem slow even following trends let alone coming up with something new!

I think Vroomen was the creative force behind them really. They also got bought by one of these overarching bike companies didnt they?

(I still think they make pretty bikes. I saw someone on a soloist on sunday and I still hanker after one of them...Bit like I do with Santa Cruz MTBs)

He does and they are fantastic (have an XC one). He also owns at least a fair chunk of 3T I think?

Very confusing. I thought CCC were going to be on Cervelo and Dimension data on BMC. Where are Giant going?

I think the rumour mill is BMC bikes for Dimension Data, Cervelo bikes for Sunweb, Giant bikes for whats now BMC Racing.

Will be interesting what happens to Cervelo Bigla in the womens peloton as I assume Sunweb ladies will be on Cervelo as well

their product stalled around 2014, except the triantelope market place. the S5 S3 and S2 are only evolutions of older designs. good bikes, sure... but everyone else has moved on (at least marketing wise)....
