I actually can't believe that Chris Froome has basically won the Giro. Yesterday morning I'd have told you even a podium would be a bit tricky.

What did you think a week ago? It's been remarkable. Hope there are reprcussions because that was incredible.

Could Salbutamol-gate strip Froome of this Giro trophy?

Tom wasn't having the handshake or anything then.

He's ridden like a champion this Giro, but come across as a bit of a pillock on a handful of occasions. Part of me admires that you get what you see; part of me thinks a little more humility wouldn't do any harm.

  • So, boring Sky/Froome win in spectacular fashion. This sport is brilliant.
  • Amazing Giro!

Well done to Tom for constantly being there and plugging away but chapeau to Froomey, laying it all out on the line and truly trusting his own ability, massive performance and surely puts him up with the all-time greats!

Also, tip of the hat to Mitchelton-Scott, animated the race throughout!

Oh, me too. But it's possible to have that without being Mourinho MkII.

I'd have put good money on Froome climbing off at the end of last week given how he'd looked. Cant believe he's pretty much won it.

Have we missed the absolute highlight of this stage in this thread?

The mention of the great donkey rescuer himself, the only pro-cyclist with a band named in his honour and a man that may or may not have a motorway named after him and assorted other exploits and honours. The one, the only...

Peanut is wobbling around the road at the moment like a lady on her shopping run. Looks really painful and it is touch and go if he'll make the time limit.
Yates is also out on the road somewhere.

Quite like the look of carapaz, he has a good kick on him (a bit like Bala) and can climb. Bit of work on TT, could he be a contender?

It's weird the number of riders that have completely cracked in this race.
