Would it make tactical sense to add a few kg of weight to the bike to help with a descent, eg a weighted jacket plus full bottles etc?

Shows how brutal this race has been that several big riders have just completely blown up. I mean not just 3 or 4 minutes lost but half an hour.

Kirby is now trying to convince everybody that Nieve is angry because he had to work for Yates. What a tool.

Yeh, he's creating a whole different reality in his mind where Nieve believes he should have been leader. Based on nothing.

  • I hope Nieve/MS can get this, would be a bit of a lift for them at what must be a horrible time after yesterday.
  • Nieve - seemingly one of the nicest guys in the peloton, fueled by rage for having to work for two of the other nicest guys in the peloton, rather than just making the most of some rare freedom.

Kirby calls it again, nobody knows the inner workings of the mind better, Steve Peters should take notes.

Lutsenko goes pop - done a very big turn on the front for Astana. Anyone know why?!

Haha, now he thinks that Wout Poels will be wondering what might have been if he hadn't helped Froome.

Nieve still doing a domestique's job for Froome, taking the top mountain points and confirming Froome as the King of the Mountains (unless Ciccone wins the stage)

  • Having tired it once for about 3 seconds before I nearly shat myself, seeing them descend at the speeds they do sat on the top tube never fails to impress me.

It's really scary. I hit 69kph on a dead straight downhill in Japan earlier this year but I can't imagine doing it on anything with bends...
