can we add in every time he uses the phrase "knarly".. I thought that was to do with skate boarding or surfing but somehome CK has made it a cycling term too

It was driving me nuts at AGR, every hill was gnarly. WTF is a gnarly hill?

Yeah but he’s got more time to cover the cycling because the sports have moved channels to get away from him.

Gnarly doesn't really have a place in road cycling - even the worst cobbles on the Arenberg don't really merit that description!

    Nor does TOOT

    FOR THE LOVE OF CLIFF.
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

What if we're talking about Froome's inhaler?

Amazing how that's gone away now there's actual racing on.

thanks for the reply argyllflyer.. I know they aren't on site for every race, but when they are particularly Le Tour it's amazing how in all those years I've never heard him add in a comment from speaking to a rider overnight etc.

Yep, I have visions of him and Kelly attacking a bottle of red as soon as they sit down at the hotel!

Matt Stephens’s “But, no...” is starting to irk.
A small thing - for now. In the context of Kirby’s nonsense, it’s like complaining about the hand cream someone uses when they smack you in the mouth, I know...

Is it just me or does anyone else notice CK doesn't appear to give much GC context in a stage race? Just watched the finish of the Tour Of The Alps and feel he never mentioned who was a threat to the overall leader. It's almost like he gets too excited with the corners, roundabouts, and motos to talk about the bigger picture.

That's probably because he doesn't know who is a threat to the overall leader. He'd have to do some research for that, and he's too busy spouting nonsense.

Much better GC context in today's commentary. Carlton's been reading the forum again obviously!

I'd feel kind of bad about how much I slag him off if he did!

Maybe I should try and be more constructive
