    Seriously?

Nothing to do with their frankly astronomical rise in fortune, shedding their "no dopers on our team" mantra, Sutton and Braisfords arrogance and their lack of transparency and dodgy dealings over the past couple of years?

All Armstrong based. Yup, that must be it.

SHHHHHHH listen! (cups hand to ear) the shrill sound of apologists :)

    Oh you cynical person you!

It's all down to Armstrong don't you know.

    Rich is right.
Armstrong done and Wiggins won, all in the space of a month or so.
The fact that Lance copped it in June meant that as soon as it looked as if Sky might win the Tour (at the now infamous Dauphine) with Wiggins, the target was switched.
Just check out when the Sky thread appeared in the Clinic.

My money is on Tom Dumoulin next, should Sky go tits up.

Many social media 'communities' need hate figures. Armstrong was that hate figure. Once he was gone they needed a replacement. They still cling on to anything to do with Armstrong.

My initial post was replying the Blazing's point that those that hate Sky the most will miss them.

    Seriously? Like really seriously?

And if even that is true, the timings as detailed in the report show this conjecture to be right.

    Who'd a thunk it.

No that happened because the newly appointed chair of the committee saw an opportunity to get his name in the papers. How often do you see him in the media - the chairs of the big committees hardly ever are. None of this process has actually achieved anything constructive. The recommendations in the report (which how these reports should be judged) are barely present.

Meh, I'm quite relaxed about it.

A lot of sky stuff hasn't added a lot of value to the fans.

    To the riders, yes, absolutely.

Hope you were just as relaxed when Rabobank folded.

I'm far more concerned by the potential impact at grass routes and growth of the sport, than cycling losing a major team.
But should BMC and Astana also fold, that's a different story.

    Fantastic.

Bloke appointed by independent commission to oversee investigation did it all by himself to get his name in the papers.

To my knowledge rabobank didn’t shun riders taking to the media, and didn’t put them behind ropes before and after races. They certainly held rest day press conferences in the Tour. Who can forget Rabo’s finest hour!

Sky’s record in fan & meedja access isn’t great.

But but but but didn't sky promise transparency to all and actually invite journos in to their team during races to show their transparency?

Well, if Wiggins does lose his 2011 TdF title and it goes to the runner up, guess who gets his 5th tour win.

And if he loses his through the Sally incident then he'll be down to whatever he'll be down to but back up due to doping. Which is the reason why he lost one.

But if he was part of that select group who trained separately and had the special doctor won't he be roped into all this anyway and therefore lose the title ge'll get because the other bloke lost it due to the drugs they were all taking?

Oh this is a bloody farce now. I give up.

If Wiggins does lose his, and Froome as well, when will there have been a winner who hasn't lost a T de F title?

As an aside aside, if he does lose the title what will Mrs F say? After all, Mrs W wasn't backwards in coming forwards a few weeks ago.

You need to check out what the no needles policy actually states. It only covers non-medical use of needles so (working on the basis that the corticosteroid was administered for a medical reason) it would be a legitimate use. Incidentally, in 2013 the rules were amended so you couldn’t compete for 8 days after a corticosteroid jab but even that was after the Wiggins incident.

Did you seriously think a pro cyclist is not allowed to have injections for medical purposes? Some of those ops for broken bones would be a bit painful / hazardous but I think you know that in your line of work!
