    How to calm down...........
Mmmm, I know, I'll watch some Tour of Britain.

Think what it's like having taken your 13 yo son round his first sportive (65 miles), get home and being Bath fans, watch the end of their match with Sarries, and then watch the Angry Lou!

    Froome - brilliant!
Nibali - had a few good digs but couldn't quite string it all together when it mattered
Zakarin - did well to be there or there abouts and nick the podium from Kelderman at the death
Contador - very entertaining in his twilight years. Not sure how he managed to perform like that in the final week though.

    1978, non?
Jacques Anquetil in 1963 the only other one.

Come to think of it, this will actually be the first Tour/Vuelta double.

  • Very nice finish to the tour. By far the best of the grand tours this season. Congratulations to Contador on his career (hopefully no returning now that he's announced it again). Sensational double for Froome. His vulnerability made this race even more interesting.

And an overall podium that I like. Like a bit of Zakarin.

Can we put 'Poels's form is crap' in the first week of a Grand Tour alongside 'Cavendish is finished' as a thing you shouldn't say.

Really pleased Froome pulled it off (and kept us in suspense until the very end).

Against my previous better judgement I warmed to Bertie and very pleased he took this stage (just hope I don't get disappointed sometime down the road). But don't change your mind and carry on.

Pleased that Nibali never won (I just can't warm to him).

And finally... a great overall Tour... the best of 2017.

    Yes, of course.

  • Froome didn't stop for a sh!t in a field (to our knowledge), so no, only the 2nd best GT of the year ...

Oh, and I should have added...
well done to the Guardia Civil for at least trying to keep some of the more moronic spectators under control (they may not have succeeded 100% but they did try unlike most of the French Gendamerie.

  • 26 riders finished outside the time limit, including the KoM winner Villella and only person who can still beat Froome for the points jersey, Trentin.

Awkward. Don't think anyone wants an all Froome presentation. Least of all Sky.

Have they been eliminated? If so very harsh on the two you mentioned as they've been out chasing points most days.

Even if they aren't excluded, Trentin will get a points penalty, giving Froome the jersey.

Lopez would get the mountains jersey

Hopefully common sense will reign and they'll keep them in the race. I don't imagine anyone, save Lopez would want them eliminated.

    Great stuff, the glory double!

Cracking way to end it for Contador. I like Millars "spread his wings and fly" comment.
