    What does Bardet look like?

The Dutch comms can't stop laughing, José Been suggest he uses it as his Tinder profile.

Roglic - Dunno if it was a dropped chain or a bike change. Seemed to be struggling before that though. Got to be the worst place to have to restart, bottom of the climb.

    Has he shat himself?

He was sat on the ground against a coke machine earlier.
    So, very similar. :P

It's right in the middle of the stadium. Where else would you have it?
It appears to be just around the first bend after entering. I'd have it on the opposite side so they had to enter the stadium and have to cycle 3 bends.

So, they time the finish to the nearest 100th of a second. But they set of with a bloke waving his fingers and someone hanging onto your back wheel.

    Doesn't seem to be consistent.

Bit like the skiers the time starts with crossing a beam I think.

It's not a loop, the start and finish sections are separate Velodrome_zpsstueux35.png

Arguably, having them ride round the outside by the crowd would have been better though

Dan sets off, hunting a promotion in the GC, could happen.

Bardet has lost his Blackadder look on the start line!

They all carry a timing chip which could be that accurate - on the road bike for most riders it is the thing which looks like a cadence sensor on the chain stay. Not sure about on the tt-bikes

No beam...they start exactly on the minute as per the electronic clock. So if they hesitate or slow in setting off, it doesnt matter the timer has already started from that minute.

EDIT: Classic example of the clock starting without the rider: Delgado in Luxembourg in 89

Gutted for Kwia, it could also have given a real quandary and allowed us to see Froome's attitude to his team had Kwia been in the hot seat with Froome in a position to pip him to the stage win. Would he have done it or backed off? We'll never know now.
