What a brute of a climb and a great descent as well. Fuglsang pretty impressive.

If that's anything to go by we should have some good racing over the next few days. You've got to admire the way Froome races. He's just full on all the time.

How did Contador end up on a different time to Valverde?

Had been dropped on the Mont Chat pretty early.

Missed my PTP due to being asleep and waking up at 12.15...

Sounds an exciting stage! Will definitely watch back. Glad to see Froomes TT wasn't a harbinger of things to come. Shame about Contador.

Went over the top with Valverde so the gap opened on the descent or just after - possible he made a mistake on a hairpin ?

    GB 1 and 2.
The payoff being Froome getting smashed by all and GC sundry.
Hangs onto 2nd on the GC though, which sums up how late they left it do do anything.

Great win for Pete Kennaugh - he looks so classy on a bike - and good to see Swifty up there too. Porte looked strong, as did Bardet. Froome less so

Pretty much everyone was out Froomeing Froome today.

True, but Porte judged his effort just right and outdid everyone who tried to attack on the last climb. Going to be an interesting Tour. Must take some mental strength to let them go and reel them back in.
