Pinot has found his niche as a small group sprinter. A replacement for Piti/Jaja.

Good work by Thomas and Landa, and Thomas' 6th stage race victory. Not quite as exciting as Paris-Nice last year, but an impressive performance none the less to react to Pozzo's attack on the final climb and keep Pinot in his sights at the end.

Latest on Awet Habtom is that, according to the PCS website, he made it to the finish - 74th in the GC @ 68'46" :D

Thomas is now doomed to abandon the Giro before the third week, just like the last two Sky winners of this race.

That's OK, he's dual leader with Landa, who looks like he's maybe starting to refind his Astana mojo.

    Pinot's week stage position 3 2 5 2 1 Pinots last three short tours 3 3 2 Andulucia ; T - A ; Alps

Completely missed that Cunego was in - and he did OK

Bernal worked hard for the white jersey

    Dupont 12th GC

Habtom an hour down GC - Id take that at 19! in my first pro race

That must be quite encouraging for Rolland and the Cannondale 21st century training method system thing - Rollands only Giro appearance - 4th GC 2014

Having dual leaders is a very un-sky thing to do but they've tried everything else at the Giro and come away with nothing. We'll see how it works out.

Uran was second behind Nibali when Wiggins dropped out in 2013.

    Pinot getting dropped.....
I've missed most of this (although looks like Bike have a recap on tonight), is Pinot's descending still rubbish?

Is he targeting the Giro because there are fewer downhill finishes than the Tour? (genuine question, I haven't looked at the routes)
