So Kristoff DNF means I owe Rick a drink...

I quite enjoyed the race. GvA been in the form of his life and deserved that. Strong and clever racing... Stybar was always going to sit on. Impressed by Moscon...

Neither Boonen nor Sagan had the legs.

Deserving winner though he does fall foul of the FF sock rule... white shoes black socks a no no, non? Ruins all the pictures!

I notice GvA has gone for the same celebration each win....

Langeveld looks like he's about to die in that photo - good effort!

But ja, if you want to ride a tactically pretty perfect PR, you won't see a better example than GvA's.

Did Stybar hit him in the eye? (I didn’t watch the whole race.)

Could this be the futureshock failing for Terpstra?

less of a future shock and more of a right there and then shock. Its a naff bit of stuff looking to solve a problem that doesnt really exist. Roaming needlebearings and probably a flash in the pan. (i am prepared to be proved completely wrong :lol: )

Haha, I know I just thought it was a good picture. Could have used this one I suppose. He's quite an odd chap.

You'd be right seeing as the pro version is unavailable in the shops. Apparently the spring in the MAMIL Roubaix isn't stiff enough for the pave - bottoms out at the very sight of cobbles. Pro version has a stiffer spring and direct mount brakes.

And here was me thinking he was looking good in the last few k sitting in doing next to no work

For me, Stybar reacted/panicked when Moscon came round. As soon as Moscon's wheel touched the front he started the sprint. Supose he wasn't to know Moscon was absolutely cooked, but pretty much handed the win to GvA.

I don't think it mattered. Van Avermaet was clearly a lot faster that him,

I feel the slight tinge of sadness creeping in that the best part of the cycling season just finished!

    Nice one!

You caught Sagan in a good mood....
  • that first pic you must have been stood a few metres from a friend of mine as its almost the same angle he took a pic

i was struck by how 'un crowded' that stretch is -

I think a lot of people try to crowd down towards the bridge near the beginning in ghoulish hope of seeing a pile-up

We were considering going to the Arenberg to watch, but thought that it'd be a bit crowded, and create too much pressure on us getting back to Calais in time for our crossing. Watched it on sector 27 to Saint-Python from a field whilst getting toasted by the sun and p1ssed in beer bought at what must pretty much be cost price from a bakery in town. Was amazing. Next year we'll probably try and get a later crossing and go to the Carrefour de l'arbre
Fat chopper. Some racing. Some testing. Some crashing.
