    5th for Moscon. Chapeau, kid.

Absolutely. Could have been a mega upset too.

I very nearly backed Moscon instead of Rowe, he was 66/1 I think - would have been slightly gutted if he'd done it! A cheeky £5ew on GVA has made me happy though.

For a second I thought he might mug them at the end.

Van Avermaet is too light to win, you know.

    74kgs 1st
    71kgs 2nd
    67kgs 3rd

What frenchie would call a lightweight podium.

Only one podium in 2015 and no team apart from Oss.

I really like Van Avermaet - an inconvenient antidote to the media's unconditional adoration of Sagan. (They're like a lovesick teenager - he's so dreamy, a rebel who lives by his own rules)

  • Superb rides by Stuyven and Moscon. Will win a few Paris Roubaixs between them. Greipel in 7th!

Pleased Stybar didn't get it after his missed turns, but wanted Langeveld to edge it out.

BMC were out reccing the finale on Wednesday. Looking like a good idea at the moment.

    Yup.
Congrats to GvA. So close for QSF again.
If Tommeke's palmares took into account races where a team mate had won/reached the podium where he was instrumental in the selection, how would that look

Although, I've completely underestimated him all season, picked him as ptp for Omloop and then never again, didn't have him in my velogames team either. Ye of little faith.

Chapeau big man! What a handsome shagger he is.

I can’t understand how a cycling fan can dislike GvA. He’s just beautiful to watch ride a bicycle.

Had £5 each way on Stybar so...annoying. But I actually don't mind GvA.

Scotson put in a big shift for him when he got distanced by a mechanical too.

I like Sagan. Good attitude. Lights races up. Wins sometimes. Looks cool doing it.

    He was unlucky today.

But BMC rode a masterclass. Oss was f@cking magnificent. GVA deserved it, he's been the best rider over the spring, and showed it where it really matters.

Demare winning the bunch sprint for 6th. Could easily have ended up with another Monument to add to his palmares today.

1/10, only getting one because it had cobbles, but that is the worst PR I've ever watched easily top 5 worst races I've committed to watching a very large chunk of. All topped off with the worst possible winner. I'd rather Valverde won than GVA.

    You wanted Stybar?

I don't mind him, it's just the media's over the top attitude to him.

I have to say, I love the comedy factor of giving a skinny-armed cyclist a huuuuuge chunk of rock as a trophy :-D

Oh I gave up worrying about what the media thought years ago. The guy's a proper racer. Every single race where he's reckoned to be a contender he tries something and shapes the race. Media used to hate him for being a bum-pinching sexist arsehole (he was).

Not a bad race I thought, not as good as last year but enjoyable. Not getting the GVA hate from some? Glad Stybar didn't win after all that soft pedalling (fair enough when it looked like Boonen could still come back, but he was way out of contention and Stybar was still sitting on).

Also was having a nice chat with a track rider who was sitting next to me for a couple of hours, turned out to be Matt Rotherham. Nice guy!

Unit of a bloke. He was at the Velodrome when I had a track session a while back - you could fit pretty much my entire body in one of his thighs

Watched it on sector 27 - Saint Python. Wondered what had happened as there was a pretty big gap back to a second bunch, must have been cos of the crash the sector before. Looked fast (unsurprisingly, given the tailwind and conditions). Did the sportive the day before and was much quicker than last year - the cobbles aren't as bad when it looks like it hasn't rained for a month. Glad Van Avermaet won - looking forward to watching Oss bury himself for him on the re-run later. Now looking forward to a 4 hour journey back up the poxy M6...

    Enjoy.

Oss buries himself. Gets caught. Digs himself up. Buries himself again.

Race was the fASTEST EVER, APPRENTLY. nOT THAT YOU CAN REALLY COMPARE, AS THE ROUTE HAS CHANGED SO MANY TIMES.

Bugger, apologies for accidental block caps.

Yeah, I've seen him ride at Revolution before and at track world cups etc on Eurosport, weirdly he looks less massive in the flesh - still big obviously and hench as f**k, but he's not as tall as I expected.

We got chatting about the race, had been chatting for a couple of hours before I asked his name, friendly bloke.

He's riding lead tandem for a paralympian at the moment.

Also when Struyven and Moscow came back was great. I was counting my pennies for a GVA win (had him each way - a lazy bet but I'm not complaining). Audible gasp in the room.

Also also - definitely recommend Rapha, since they were giving out free beer!!!!

My missus was at Rapha in Manchester watching it - didn't say anything to me about free beer up there... But she's up the duff, so maybe didn't think to mention it. We got toasted on kronenbourg in the sunshine. Was baking hot for April.

Shame. Sums up his spring campaign.
