I did consider it... I had loads of steel bikes... it would seem a step back in time... plus is a bit pricey for what it isleft the forum March 20230 -

Dolan Dual ticks a lot of boxes. It's not super heavy, but not light. A CAAD12 would be lighter. But the Dolan has big clearance, threaded BB and mudguard eyes.
I hear you... given my plans to get into long distance, it was the logical choice, the only bike that made sense... and I like it...
I'm interested to know what you think of it.0 -

I will open a thread in the bikes section... I certainly will have plenty of opportunities to ride it long distance, with a 200 and a 400 coming up. I like the fact that everything is standard (cables outside, BSA thread, alloy steerer) and yet it's not a relic from the 1990s. I think I can build it into a just over 8 kg bike with my current components. I haven't heard a bad word about it, which was the main factor that sold it to me over the Planet X unknown quantity. The CAAD 12 was very tempting, but probably the brand more than anything, ultimately BB30 is a pain and other minor things I wasn't too sure aboutleft the forum March 20230
