True, but can you see them backing Martin?

I mean, if PR is a race where you need to place in the top 10 a few times before you start winning....
He'a a pretty good wild card to keep in play though. I'd want him in the final selection. He can win in the manner of Terpstra.

We agreed Tony Martin isn't going to win a monument this year yet?

    Decent result for Keukelaire then.

Yep, worked really well with GVA and I thought he'd played it well in the last Km, eased upto GVA's wheel after GVA started his sprint but then didn't have the legs when he pulled out of the wheel.

GVA won by the sounds of it... call this a spoiler thread!

I thought the point of labelling it a spoiler thread was to alert people that it might contain results, rather than it would provide a results service. But happy to be corrected
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

No love lost from Terpstra either, who also throws a grenade Giant's way.

"At first I was taking my turns, but Henderson wasn't pulling, and so I got fed up with him too, so then we got to the gap situation, and we all waited too long."

"did you argue?" "for a bit and then we [him and sagan] decided we better work together to chase it down, but Henderson he kept not pulling - typical Giant".

Well, that's tricky Niki's problem, right there.
He was arguing with Henderson instead of Anderson.
No wonder there was no cooperation.

Well the rest of the posts were pretty informative! Just wanted to know how the rest of it panned out.

Difficult to bet against GvA for Flanders.

Keukelaire wasn't slacking but it was Van Avermaet who did a lot of the big turns there and Sagan and Terpstra weren't able to make any inroads. Super strong.

Out of interest has anyone won Omloop, E3, Gent-Wevelgem, and Flanders in the same year?

    Doubt it.

He did only the first three. If you win the Omloop, your chances of winning Flanders are zero, statistically.

I love how non English he is.

"Was the 2010 moment against Tom in Flanders your best moment?"

"well..pfft...it was a great moment but i've had many great moments"

Too right Fabian, too right :D.

Sagan soundbite gives Terpstra a load of grief. 8)
Looks like Nicky has made another pal in the peloton.

In defence of Terpstra, why should he ride with Sagan and GvA, especially given they had Gavaria & Boonen behind?

Difficult call but Quickstep weren't working behind either and why should the others drag Gaviria up to the front - for me they either had to get Terpstra to shut down that break by covering every move or else get Terpstra to roll through and then either attack or sit on in the final 3-4k and trust his sprint.

No question, 100%, iron clad legend.

I only started watching pro cycling about 10 years ago, so this is the first experience I have of being genuinely upset that I'll never see a certain cyclist race again.

Boonen almost did - won E3, G-W, Flanders in 2012, missed out on the Omloop. Did win some chipper in France as well, a week after Flanders ;-)

    Came 2nd in Omloop.

Closest anyone has got. Was a ridiculous classics campaign.

Topped off with an uber-ridiculous 50km solo win in P-R.

Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

Wonder what the odds are for Quickstep to come away from the Spring Classics season without a win?

Are you counting chippers like Scheldeprijs?

    S'alright.

Groenewegen is picking up that particular baton.
