My man Sep. You need the hairdryer treatment you choker. This is 2017. The racing starts 70km. Can't get dropped then you lightweight choker. Sort it out.
He's sick, had a dodgy stomach on Wednesday and it came back during yesterday's race. He's got 15 days to recover.

Hayman was still on the turbo at this point last year shirley?

Yes, good point. He rode a couple of one day races the weekend before Roubaix, but that was his total race prep after breaking his collarbone at Het Nieuwsblad.

Oooooaaaaaarr, Gilbert looks mighty tasty doesn't he?

He's got that whole QS team purring.

They look like they've got their mojo back. I love it when they are tearing races up.

Looking ahead to next Sunday and the Ronde, early indications are that Eurosport will be live from 9-15am, with a 90 minute gap from 11am.
This ties in with how Sporza normally cover the race, with the signing on, roll out and opening kms.
Talking of the sign on, I'll miss not seeing The Markt in Bruges.
    Gets me all beery.

Fairly sure there's been a crossswind split as is usual early on. No idea if it's back together or not in the peloton.

It sounds like peloton 1 is Quickstep, who seem to have dropped everyone else

Yes but also have read it's back together, so not sure if the peloton has gone full Taylor Swift or not.

Sporza is playing a blinder too.
Nowt but chin wagging, but for a brief glimpse of the breakaway.

  • Ive stopped drinking for a bit and seem to have completely lost my ability to interpret 'Sporza language' I got that bit on the All Blacks but usually can get a handle on the minute by minute developments

If i was 1 /2 bottle of red in or a on my third Duval I would usually be passing onto others what is 'going on'

BMC use the 2 crashes to put the hammer down and cause an echelon alert.

Eurosport: Imagine if they took ad breaks in football, just as a penalty was being taken?
Terpstra left adrift in the second group.

If I have it right then the long flat stretch after the last of the bergs from Ieper to Menen will have a mild cross head wind (about 10mph) - dunno if enough to really matter. And who knows what the plug streets and Kammelberg mark two might have already smashed it up

The in-car shots of the Trek car show that DSs usually use radios to say little of consequence.
