It's mostly dry, but minus three. Got home at 9.30. Wondering whether to cycle in tomorrow or not. I feel fecked0 -

4 days 'compressed hours' (probably hardly seeing the kids), one day to recover and then the weekend. Never mind all the late nights back and riding in the dark. Is it worth it?seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

If I decide to ride, then it's half worth it. Today I drove in, so no.
I'm licking my lips at the thought of my upcoming Filthy Banker's Bonus (TM Jeremy Corbyn)
I'm normally out at five, but the last couple of months have been shite. Can't get the staff you see. You doing anything?0 -

I could shake things up a bit given a position of power akin to running Gulags smoothly. If that isn't on the table, then I can fix up the tea room a little with the help of a donor caravan.
You left the big stink only to do a similar job up Norf and found that apart from a few less bits of concrete, there's nothing new under the (slightly weaker) sun?
Hey - this makes a change from hijacking Bender's thread.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

The air is nicer and i can afford a house that's bigger than a small tent
I lasted 18 months in london, before deciding "Fark this guvnor, I'm awff back to Scotland innit". Wasn't for me, I missed the Heylands in winter. That was twenty years ago.0 -
Oh well, You saw the light (and it wasn't the lights of an on coming train). That's just as well, 'cos you could have ended up like Stevo. Close shave eh? Phew.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

Indeed, he has to go to Wales for entertainment!
There's all sorts in that statement, very multi layered: Irony, parallels... Most of all, why? Personally, I think he's got a deep fetish for the ladies of Swansea. Down hilling is just a metaphor.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

I think he like the faggots.
Edit: I feel I should provide this

They got that wrong - faggots is not of Welsh Origin although it is big in South Wales in particular - but it comes more from the 'West Country' part of England - Wiltshire, Gloucs, West Mids etc. If you go to Devizes in Wiltshire they serve them at just about every restaurant and cafe - I have never seen so many!
Anyone else remember the Brains Faggots adverts? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYscVj9MMlE0 -

Roobarb, Henry's Cat, Noah & Nelly. I knew Bob Godfrey, who made them, when I was a student and he was a part time tutor. He used to put other tutors and students in those programmes, in the background for a few frames, so we used to watch so as to spot people we knew; "Hey look that's..." He never did me though.
Sapphire and Steel, starring Joanna Lumley and David McCallum as some sort of cross-dimensional investigators, or something. Late 70's, early 80's. It was pretty good, if you didn't try to pretend it made sense. I remember it ended with the two of them "trapped between two instants of time". According to Wikipedia, there's a follow up in the pipeline.0 -
Anyone remember the Gemini Man? A guy with a digital watch which made him invisible at the touch of a button. I remember that digital watches had only just come out and I soooo wanted one!

The "West of England". Isn't that just the bit of wales that got cut off?0 -
Can't remember the title, but does anyone remeber a kids TV show where the main character's dad was played by Roger Daltrey as an ageing, racist teddy boy? I think it was written and prodcued by Nigel Farage before he got into politics.
(The last bit is not actually true)0 -
