  • Tour of Limousin starts today - OK not a big race ( its in the small race thread!) but like a PCT showdown with likes of Androni, Bardiani, Caja Rural, Rompot, Rusvelo , Euskadi - the usual Belguim and French suspects - 20 teams in all - but of course no GB teams.
  • Elie Gesbert Fortuneo - multiple strong showings at the Tour (22)
Dassonville HTP- Auber 93- hard man from the Somme
M Van der Poel. Beobank Quite good on his winter bike in the fields (22)

    There's some good talent about!

  • Stage 2 : cream rising to the top

    1 VUILLERMOZ Alexis

    2 GAVAZZI Francesco

    3 PRADES Eduard

    4 MARTIN Guillaume

    5 CALMEJANE Lilian

    Gesbert holds on to GC
  • Steve Cummings wins the 1st stage of the Giro della Toscano from a small but heavyweight breakaway, that included the second best rider at the Vuelta and Sky's new wonderkid.
If anybody fancies a watch, you will find 50 minutes worth of highlights, here:-

Unfortunately, it's in Italian or nothing. (Though both options be better than Kirby)

Doesn't get much more shoot or much smaller than this. It's not even on the Cycling News calendar, though Inrng hasn't missed it:

    http://www.discoverhongkong.com/common/ ... HKC_EN.pdf

UCI Asia Tour 1.1, apparently....Twenty laps of a 5.15km circuit in downtown Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. Some quality riders, though. Orica Scott are here again, featuring Matt Hayman, assuming he's OK after the crash at the Worlds. Some of Team Wiggins also slated to ride.

I hope it cools down a bit - it's been over 30 degrees every day since last May. I don't want to get all sweaty watching them. :D

Davide Rebellin winning stage 1 of the prestigious International Tour de Banyuwangi Ijen, aged 46.

Would be curious to know where that rates on the chipper ranking.
  • It's a decent enough small Asian race (.2 rated). He'll likely lose it tomorrow or on the summit finish day after.

Think I read an interview with him a while back where he said he knows nothing else in life and wouldn't know what to do if he retired so he just carries on. Think he's married, but I would imagine a team sponsored by Kuwait pays quite well.

Nice win today for Dan McClay (Fortuneo-Oscaro) in today's Tour de l'Eurometropole/Circuit Franco Belge in Tournai. Pipped Jimmy Turgis on the line who was already raising his arms to celebrate.

There are three Turgis brothers riding for Cofidis (Jimmy, Anthony and Tanguy). I think you are correct though.

Watching the re-run, MacClay would've won the race without the mistake by Jimmy Turgis there. He was absolutely spent. Glad he at least made the podium though.

Perhaps it is part of the Cofidis plan to never win another race!!!!

Cofidis still had a win, yesterday.

What you have all been waiting for:

The Hong Kong Sun Hung Kai Cyclothon Challenge Results:

    1. Matej MORORIC - UAE Team Emirites - 2hr 35:57
    2. Robbie HOOKER - IsoWhey Sports SwissWellness Team - 0:05
    3. Yukiya ARASHIRO - Japan - 1:14

A great weekend for UAE, with Nibbles winning in Lombardy and now this. IsoWhey had two in the top five:

Sad to say that Mathew Hayman didn't place for Orica Scott - clearly goes better on the cobbles. :)

That's pro cycling over for another year in Hong Kong...

Loved this bit of the article:

"Bouhanni had a verbal confrontation with race winner Rudy Barbier (AG2R-La Mondiale) soon after the finish line, which was caught on the cameras of several fans. Bouhanni, who has been a divisive character in the peloton, had to be separated from Barbier by one of the AG2R La Mondiale team soigneurs as others watched on. He had initially said that he had nothing to say sorry about, but eventually posted a statement on both Facebook and Twitter after the race."

    Bouhanni thinks he's right and everyone else thinks he's a d!ck.. :)

But have you seen the final sprint or is your post bandwagon cos everyone has a go at Bouhanni, just asking like.

No, you are quite right, Frank. You can tell that I love jumping on the bandwagon by the way I post about such popular topics as the Sun Hung Kai Challenge.

I have had a good look at the video, which doesn't show anything untoward, although it is not very clear, unfortunately. However, as barely a week goes by without Bouhanni becoming embroiled in one disagreement or another, I will stand by my original assessment. Perhaps he should return to boxing as at least he's guaranteed to find someone to have a punch up with whenever he feels the urge...

    Best,
    Steve
