How ironic is this?

No because that will be something women supply. Where as hydration fluids and nutrition are handed up by ones support vehicle.

Wind your neck in sunshine. Your ride stats are mediocre.

You could use your time constructively, like learning which tool goes with which fastener. Or, haven't you got mocks coming up? You could try working for your exams. Or do you really believe you already know everything?

I'm going to put the bragging and the trolling to one side - but can I just say your choice of routes is terrible...

As someone who used to work in Basildon (and commute by bike) I know the area well. And when you're going on a ride, you don't go south; it just gets more built up, it's pancake flat, dull, full of traffic lights and you'll just reach water sooner or later. To the north (or north east/west) it quickly gets more open and better suited to riding. You've got one of the best hills in Essex just round the corner from you (Church Hill in Langdon Hills) and you can put together a much more interesting route with way less traffic, no traffic lights or roundabouts in sight. For example in my 10 mile commute to Chelmsford, I had as much climbing as you managed in 33 miles.

Your average speed might take a hit in doing so, which will impact your ability to brag about it on forums, but it will make you a better cyclist.

God if I'd known it was all just about post count I would have written a programme to post every hour some random tat from the web, instead of trying to add a tiny bit of useful content plus beer related tales.

Plus riding over 20mph day in day out is frankly boring ie commuting, riding along with my club mates and friends enjoying cycling now that's worth talking about.
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

What's the point when a lucrative pro contract beckons?

If you look at his Strava profile (https://www.strava.com/athletes/13172158) , his stats for last year are
    Distance 1,118.0 mi
    Time 63h 22m
So his average speed is 17.6mph

I think you are being harsh on him.

I commute daily and rarely does anyone get past me, I am fast and powerful, I could go pro if I wanted to, but family commitments stop me.

every now and again I do get over taken .... but the people over taking me, must be pro riders that are out training because a non pro could never pass me.

going on the OPs strava times it would seem that he is faster than me, I mean I only average 15mph on the way home, I would be quicker but its up hill and traffic lights and cars and stuff slow me down ... but even still, his times show that he would be quicker than me ... going on that he must be at a pro level ... all he needs is Team colours and a number
