I watched a documentary about Mr Herbert when he was racing Indy car and he would chuck wobblies at the team mechanics like a 3 year old on chocolate and fizzy pop.
Put me off the guy as a 'personality' completely.

Guy Martin is he your inexplicable suggestion Cowsham?

No but the sight of Vicki in skin tight leathers would be worth putting up with Guy repeating every sentence.

Any other f1 driver would do but Johnny was the only one I could come up with that might need the money and replace Jeremy as chief knob.

OK you made me Google her with the leathers bit. Sorry but I think she's slightly inexplicable. Nice figure but neck up (including the thinking and talking bit of her) puts me right off.

If you're looking at a female, top gear UK lead then that German driver, Sabine. Beats VH-B any day.

Yeah, I get them mixed up but then when your head goes all fuzzy at the sound...
I quite like the voice of Sally traffic.
There is a traffic gurl on BBC Narden Eyrlan who has this very softened accent. I wouldn't care what she looked like, just as long as she whispered in my ear.

On the subject of radio voices - 6 Music.

Beckipaedia on Guy Garvey's show and the lady called Alcopops on RadMac. Beckipaedia being Garvey's sister would give cause for concern when imagining what she looks like, however discussing music trivia with her over a drink or two would be a great way to spend an evening.

And of course 6 also have the divine Lauren Laverne (who we know is not at all inexplicable), and whose existence redeems all the (considerable) sins and ills of the population of Sunderland

I like Rachel Wiley. Particularly her voice and manner. Talks a heap of horse sh1t prior to an ear raking, spirit crushing song with no melody containing nothing endearing but still.

when Mariella was on channel 5 when it started i certainly took notice of the telly

Probably been said before but Victoria Coren Mitchell on HIGNFY last night worked for me. I'm not sure if she's inexplicable or that it's just inexplicable she's married to David Mitchell!

I really like Nena who sung 99 luft ballons. Saw her in interview in the late 90's, (with her two kids) and she just glowed.
There's something attractive about women who are effervescent, glowing, shiny. Even if they aren't particularly good looking. Claire Danes did it for me when she was in Romeo and Juliet.

Seeing Nena dancing around in those leather trousers in the 99 Red Balloons video was a highlight of my young teenage years. Doro Pesch from Warlock was an even greater pleasure in (fake) leather a few years later.

I suppose the hairy pits made it inexplicable?

Never particularly taken to Victoria Coren before, but something last night worked for me too.
The inexplicable must have been the glasses (never seen her in them before), or the smile (struck me as more naturally honest, not just for the cameras), or the dress (cherries!) – or most likely the combination of all three. I'd also venture she's lost some weight, in the face at least, which contributed too.

Yes Alice has been mentioned before, she does come across as warm and friendly,I kept watching Coast because of her,as a couple of other presenters I found s bit dull,I loved her van as well a VW T25/T3 Syncro 4x4 camper
As couple mentioned Joan Jett and Doro Pesch,I remember Lita Ford in the late 80's when I was early mid teens, never got sick of seeing Kiss Me Deadly video

    ^ That's one hell of a perm.

In fact, I couldn't tell the difference between her and any band member of 'Europe'.

That was the 80's after all!
Prince's videos were always worth a watch at that time

Looking back on it, I suppose Bananarama fall into the inexplicable category, although it seemed to make sense in the 80's. As some wag one said about the girl band; 'I came across them on the pages of a pop magazine, as did a lot of teenage boys at the time' :)

It's the same with both Penny Mordant and Caroline Dinenage - there's something about them both, but I feel very, very dirty even thinking about them. Maybe it's an Allo Allo thing and I'm thinking of them as Helga.
