Yeh if the colours are washed out (a day like today), then bring out textures (see: the clouds).

On a camera (ie not a phone), you could ramp up the ISO and underexpose for a bit of mood.

Up Carningli Mountain. There is a large hill fort area from where the pic was taken. A bit misty, but not complaining as this weather is great. You can see Ireland on a clear day.

PS, composition-wise, I wanted to crop the bottom of the photo more, but I couldn't bear to chop off the masked reflection of the bike saddle. These things matter.

Are there not two photos there? One cropping off the reflection and one cropping off the far bank to focus on the reflection.

Not really anything interesting to snap on today's woodland walk but it was noticeably greener than a couple of weeks ago and looked like it was going to be full of bluebells soon.
